Today in History: Barth Owoh was executed.
April 10, 1985. Bartholomew Owoh, Bernard Ogedengbe and Lawal Ojuolape, were killed by firing squad at Kirikiri shooting range in Lagos. General Buhari gave the order.

He was a renowned Igbo folklore musician and traditionalist. Pericoma stopped the illegal taxing of people at Upper Iweka. He hailed from Arondizuogu in Imo state, aged 69. Speed Darlington (Akpi) is his son.

7 years ago today, Chief Onuora Nzekwu, a renowned writer and broadcaster died. He hailed from Onitsha in Anambra state. In May 1966, he wrote a popular novel, "Eze Goes To School", that shot him to fame. Died on this day in 2017, aged 89.

Celestine Ukwu was a renowned Igbo Highlife musician during the 1960s and 1970s. The “Ije Enu, Uso Ndu” crooner hailed from Abor in Udi LGA of Enugu state. He died in an auto-crash in Ogidi on May 7, 1976, aged 36.

Most times, I still think about her and her death. I can’t believe nothing is being done to her husband, Peter Nwachukwu who clearly abused her when she was alive. Her death is really sad and painful.
2 years ago today, Igbo Gospel Artiste, Osinachi Nwachukwu passed on. Her sad demise was as a result of perpetual domestic violence from her husband. The “Ekwueme” crooner was 42 years.
