Today marks 30 years since the initial airing of Self Pollution Radio, a 4.5 hour-long broadcast hosted in a Seattle-based rehearsal space by Pearl Jam. On-air jams, live sets of unreleased music, band chat, and impromptu interviews spanned the programming alongside sounds from The Fastbacks, Mad Season, Mudhoney, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Dave Grohl, and Kris Novoselic. At the time, Self Pollution Radio was available to listen by anyone with a shortwave radio, as well as picked up by stations across the country, from New York to LA.
