@db_witch The thing is this actually would've been a really cool plot twist. if it was ever actually set up. There was no foreshadowing, no clever hints, it was pulled out at the literal last minute and completely derailed what was set up to be a very climatic final battle.

@VivaDaRevo What made classic SpongeBob so good was the sheer quality of the writing. A ton of it's jokes was purely the dialogue between characters. To the point that one episode had a minute or two of just looking at a box. And every second of it was hilarious.
