#News - Moments ago, Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Narcotics detectives were conducting an investigation/operation at a yet-to-be-determined location when the suspect struck one of the detectives and fled. A pursuit ensued, culminating on SR-836 westbound at NW 12th Avenue, where the suspect, an adult male, was taken into custody. During the pursuit, the suspect collided with three MDSO vehicles—one of which was a K-9 unit—as well as one civilian vehicle. The K-9 sustained injuries and was transported to an emergency veterinary hospital, where its condition remains unknown. No pedestrians were struck, and no additional injuries have been reported. Coral Gables Police have arrested two smugglers after discovering 26 Chinese migrants hidden in the back of two vans this morning. Authorities responded to a 911 call reporting suspicious vans potentially carrying migrants. Acting on the tip, police intercepted one of the vans near Old Cutler Road and Kendall Drive around 8:30 a.m. Police also reportedly intercepted a second van carrying migrants at a nearby location.
