Last week, 50 RFS members travelled to Wollongong to compete in the 35th NSW Police and Emergency Services Games. The event brings together NSW agencies to compete in 31 sports. Our

team won numerous medals including gold in cross-country, athletics, tennis and shooting.

The school holidays have arrived! For those Year 12 students who are undertaking their HSC exams in the coming weeks, we wish you all the best. Particularly those students who are also in the RFS - just like our four members from the Peninsula Brigade.

Thanks to the hard work of firefighting crews, supported by waterbombing aircraft, the Meatworks Fire was updated to a contained status earlier today. Smoke may be visible over coming days as bushland inside containment lines burns.

are conducting a 1ha burn in the vicinity of the Beacon Hill Reserve & Warringah Rd, Beacon Hill. This burn is located 1km to the south of the Meatworks Fire.
We are aware of drones currently being flown near the Meatworks Fire. You must not fly a drone during firefighting operations. Flying drones near fires is a major safety concern and can result in heavy fines or penalties. If you fly your drone, we can’t fly our aircraft.

Firefighters are continuing to work towards containment of the Meatworks Fire. Backburning operations are currently being conducted in the vicinity of the Red Hill Reserve, on the western edge of the fire.
