I think the anime is unironically probably the BEST showcase of how Adachi and Yu ARE similar, even if its for different reasons and WHY his connections are so important, how because of them he DIDNT become like Adachi And also it showed that Naoto is 100% down to murder someone

I think calling it a replacement for the game is a kinda corny way to look at art But Persona 4 The Animation is definitely my favorite iteration of P4's story and it's not even close. I seriously think every Persona fan should watch it if they're able.
