One of Labour's finest leaders, John Smith, died 25 years ago today. He was committed to social justice and the Labour Party. That commitment was summed up in his last speech when he said, just a day before he died, "the opportunity to serve our country - that is all we ask."
@philipoconnor
It's funny how many of you make these statements and then announce that nothing is "up for discussion."
Because you have no arguments, no evidence, no justification, nothing. Just your own gargantuan sense of self righteousness.

There are loads of alternatives:
*Post
*Semaphore
*Smoke signals
*Aldis Lamp
*Loudhailer from a passing horse and cart
*Projecting the lessons onto the sky in the manner of the batsignal
*Mind control
*Towed on a banner behind a small plane

Because children are vulnerable, credulous, often anxious, uncertain, desperate to belong or desperate for attention.
You know how cults work? They tell you that any strange feelings you have in your life can be solved by being part of their group. That's what this is.
@toadmeister
They aren't harming our national interest they are defending their own. Leavers walked knowingly into a position of weakness and then set themselves a deadline. The very definition of how not to negotiate. This is on you and you alone.
@DanielJHannan
The EU acts in its members interests. If it didn't, the officials would find themselves being rapidly replaced.
Just admit this whole thing has been a disaster from start to finish, and it's your fault.
@paulkrugman
A good example of how no constitution, no matter how cleverly written and intended, can protect a nation from those who feel that the law should not apply to them, because they are wealthy and privileged.

One of the rights Lammy says women are "hoarding" is the right to be kept safe from the men who murder and rape women. Yet he would happily imprison such men alongside women if they claimed to be a woman. He needs to get his head round these issues if we're going to believe him.
@truesolicitor
@JohnAmaechi
He hasn't dismantled anything. He's made some nonsense statements without evidence and blocked people who pointed out he's talking shit.

It's ok, the EHRC are reflecting what a large and growing number of lesbian and gay people are saying now. We're delighted with their evolution.
@DavidLammy
@UKLabour
So a journalist forced you to call women "dinosaurs" who are "hoarding rights"?
YOU did that. Own it, apologise for it, and then resign from a position in which you are doing more harm than good.
@Atrios
@siennamarla
Funny, because the 2019 Labour Manifesto said the same thing.
"Ensure that the single-sex-based exemptions contained in the Equality Act 2010 are understood and fully enforced in service provision."
You'll note the words 'single sex' not gender identity.

Alaric Bamping was banned in the late medieval period as too many Alarics were being bamped. The shortages meant we had to import Alarics from the near continent. Irony!

There is no 'debate'. Men cannot become women. Women cannot become men. This science has existed for billions of years and hasn't changed recently just because a few mediocre people decided to make it a thing.

96% of the rules made in the EU were with the approval of the UK government. We have always had control domestically. Brexit's a con job.

Briefly wearing a mask to protect other people from a dangerous virus is literally the least you could do. You're not some great freedom fighter, you're a walking shambles.

Orwell would have a field day with you lot. Time to accept, as you clearly do privately Paul, that your figurehead is utterly unsuited to any position of leadership.
