serves me right for still listening to Today over breakfast, but it's a middle class tradition that I can't quite shake off

Mass migration is wildly unpopular with the British public, always has been. It's enabled by a small number of centrist people in politics and media – hundreds, max thousands – who define the Overton window. And they're all addicted to twitter. Policy change is in their hands.

It becomes very clear, when talking about birth rates, that several generations of state Ponzi scheme have lulled a lot of people into believing in a magic money tree. "But the state will look after me!" – no, by 'the state' you mean actual flesh and blood people

I have spent most of my working day trying and failing to give the government money I apparently owe them. I have decided to become an anarchist.

My TL suggests, though, that liberal/centrist Tories – the people who are actually sustaining current migration policy – are very shaken by seeing ethnic conflict in HD and are coming to the realisation that multiculturalism may have been the biggest policy error in living memory

New piece by @GoodwinMJ on the relationship between mass migration and the housing crisis: "In London, almost half (48 per cent) of all social housing is now occupied by households that are headed by somebody who was not born in Britain."

We've become so enfeebled by the expectation that the state will do everything for us, the idea of doing things for each other becomes unthinkable. Even things as fundamental as cooking meals or changing sheets or running errands for mothers in our lives who've just given birth.

By which I mean *basic* feminist ideas like "women should be allowed to go to university" - one of the reasons I care about the birth rates problem is that cultures that believe this are rapidly dying out

And nothing about the scenes that have gone viral on here: an attempted stabbing, "death to all the jews", "Hitler knew what to do with them", intimidation outside the synagogue in St John's Wood. People who rely solely on the BBC for news just wouldn't know about these things.
