How we managed to get this guy as our LB I will never know. 💎
- So comfortable in all phases of play.
- Can receive on the half turn
- Crazy engine which is so vital for those full backs.
- Physicality is a joke at 20, shrugs grown men off like they’re the kids.
- Decision
Bryan Gil's return to the squad seems to be on the horizon, and we are very intrigued/excited to see how he develops under Ange.
Gil will give Spurs even more attacking flexibility due to the versatility of Johnson who can play across front three and Son who can play as a 9.
With reports that Son hasn’t been training daily and is carrying an injury, I think we have no choice but to rest him against Luton.
Step forward… Alejo Véliz.
This game suits his profile brilliantly. Spurs will be once again facing a low block where the space is likely to

The system doesn’t allow for them to get regular clean sheets yet…
But in Romero and van de Ven we have two of the best CBs in the world.
Romero’s incisive passing and brilliantly timed front-foot defending.
VDV’s ability to carry the ball into midfield mixed with his
Mikey Moore excellent tonight and I think this Europa phase is the perfect platform for him to develop.
Not ready quite yet for meaningful Prem minutes IMO.
Needs slight work on his explosivity (gym work) and some more minutes to learn tactically.
Prime example is hitting
Antonio Nusa.
Genuinely one of the best players we could sign for a position we badly need long term.
We are beautifully run right now.
Even if this doesn’t come off, the direction is just fantastic 🔝.
Genuinely think without Romero there’s no chance we get over the line.
The amount of times he won the ball high up.
Literally driving the team forward and so solid from set pieces.
Idc what people tell me best CB in the league.
I can’t explain how big of a talent Bergvall is.
Genuinely a ridiculous signing.
For those who haven’t seen him just watch this video I made on him a year ago. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
On a more positive note, these two were excellent when they came on.
Ball retention ✅
Imaginative with their movement off the ball ✅
Physicality to withstand pressure and win duels ✅
Both Kulusevski and Bergvall will be huge this season… 🇸🇪
Brennan Johnson has had the second most touches in the opposition box in the league this season.
I think part of his uptick in form has been confidence but also because of Kulusevski’s new role… (mini-🧵)
Pape Sarr was a home run signing by Fabio Paratici 🇸🇳
Spurs beat City, Chelsea and Man Utd to obtaining his signature, and now have a rising star who will be considered homegrown from next season onwards, which will be massive once Spurs get back into European competition.
With an agreement with Radu Drăgușin only seeming to be getting closer...
Here's what you need to know about the Romanian, and how he may fit in Postecoglou's side !!!👀🇷🇴:

In terms of our starting 11, I genuinely think we’re an elite left winger away from being one of the best sides in the league again.
If we’re ever going to spend big money on one player please let it be one of:
- Nico Williams
- Rafael Leao
- Kaoru Mitoma
May seem
I actually don’t agree with all the Vicario slander.
He had a couple shaky moments today for sure, and his coming for crosses and corners could be improved.
But I think his bravery and short passing game is exceptional and is a huge reason we can consistently build out of
Destiny Udogie
Luka Vušković
Pape Matar Sarr
Ashley Phillips
Alfie Dorrington
Micky Van de Ven
Alfie Devine
Jamie Donley
Mikey Moore
Dane Scarlett
Alejo Velíz
The future looks ridiculously bright at Spurs 🤍.

Dejan Kulusevski has to start for the remainder of the season.
No one in our front line has anywhere near the retention he does.
He prevents the constant turnovers and dangerous transitions, while also being super composed and smart in the final third.
He hasn’t been good
Lots of talk around the lineup for the Arsenal game. This is how I’d set up.
Vicario
Emerson Romero VDV Udogie
Sarr Bissouma Madders
Kulusevski Son Johnson
- Emerson in for protection in transitions and security in possession when playing out against Arsenal’s high press.
-
I can’t watch another season of trying to beat a low/mid block with Brennan, Son and Werner out wide. The lack of composure, technique and security just causes us so many issues. Need at least one of those to be a technical footballer.
Odobert can’t come soon enough.
Solanke’s hold up is incredible, not only does he relieve pressure and help us get up the pitch.
He’s then able to swivel on it, hold off defenders and slip passes through to our wide men.
He’s just a joy to watch, so glad we signed him.

If Biss keeps up this level, my expectations for this season go up a level.
He’s even adding varied passing length to his game, which I imagine is a coaching point worked on this summer.
With him the talent is there, just about the consistency.
You just can’t find the
For me, this should be the order of priority for transfer targets in the next couple windows:
1. Backup CB who can play both sides.
2. A number 6 who is a creative passer.
3. Top level LW who is a 1 vs 1 specialist.
4. Young no 2 keeper.
5. Back up LB.
Kulusevski’s balance for a player of his height and physical stature continues to amaze me.
He suits RCM so much better because the angles favour his left foot much more.
He can rotate with Porro and Johnson so that he ends up wide but he’s not restricted there because of him
Can’t think of many sides in Europe with a better crop of CBs for the next 10 years.
All kinds of profiles, great personalities it seems too.
Don’t forget about Vuskovic either because he’s still arguably the best CB of his age group in Europe.
A potential world beater 🇭🇷.
Might be reading too much into this but Djed Spence looks so much more integrated this summer…
Looks happy to be here.

Eberechi Eze - The missing piece of the Postecoglu puzzle
A 🧵 on why he should be the number one target for Tottenham this summer to take the team to the next level.
@SeanLofting
- Can comfortably play both sides
- Can go both inside and outside on either side
- Brilliant body feints to create separation
- Quick both over the first few yards and longer distances
- Quality ball striking potential if he adds consistency
- Combines very well in the final

That North London Derby was an excellent barometer to measure the progress Spurs have made in just a few months under Ange.
Postecoglou's possesion based football philosophy on full display. At no point did Spurs slow down and revert to pure defensive play to try to escape with
Vušković is certainly the most ready for men’s football out of him, Phillips and Dorrington despite the fact he’s the youngest.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Spurs have offered him that 3rd CB spot to persuade him to choose us.
Looks like we’ve beaten the likes of PSG, Liverpool
Clear tactical switch to have Maddison drift to the left touchline with Son getting much closer to goal.
Maddison’s 1v1 ability very underrated.
Switch is working a treat right now.
Something very wrong with our left hand side dynamics.
Son hugging the touchline so far away from goal.
Udogie receiving in the pockets when he’s so much more effective driving up the line.
Maddison a deep controller rather than picking the lock in the final third.
Pure mentality issue this loss. Nothing on Ange although he needs to lay into the players after this one.
Have to have the desire to defend your box, Porro the only one of the back 4 who can hold his head high.
Bentancur jogging over to block Rutter’s cross was particularly
Can we see the difference Odobert has made in just 45 minutes.
The upgrade from having a player out wide who kills the ball with their first touch every time and is just so comfortable with it at their feet is huge.
His final ball will need refinement but his urge to beat his
Taking a step back though, we’re definitely on to the right thing with Ange.
A long way to go, but the system is developing really nicely. Mentality a big issue to get right and our squad is still not strong enough to get through games like that.
Horrible result but I’m
Yves Bissouma absolutely excellent.
His composure is so key when we’re building with a single pivot because the jeopardy of losing the ball there is so big.
He’s even added some long passes to his game that we often criticise him for not having in his locker.
Goal an
Last point on the game before I drown my sorrows.
Maddison’s attitude has been really poor since his injury. Moaning at the ref, team mates and opposition. Not channeling his aggression but letting it take over his game.
At the same time slowing down play and trying to buy
Couldn’t be more different from Son
- Incredible ball retention
- Brilliant in the pockets
- 1 vs 1 threat
- Such good rhythm and feel to his game, understands ‘pausa’
- Likes the ball to feet
- Not a consistent finisher yet
Our build-up is some of the best in the league, this is genuinely probably the last of our issues.
We also don’t rely on dribbling in build-up, I have no idea what he’s watching?
I'm slightly falling out of favour with Ange's project at Spurs.
The demands in the build-up are massive as they maintain the 2-3-5 structure across the thirds - the
#8
's drop to receive and are reliant on dribbling in 1v1 situations to evade pressure.
Several issues with this.
The main upgrade Solanke brings over Richarlison is the ability to retain possession consistently.
Solanke is much more refined technically, he has more class to his touches.
This massively upgrades us due to the lack of technique in our front line. The amount of turnovers we
Half time thoughts:
- If Ange continues to neglect defensive set pieces, will cost him his job. Lost us so many points.
- Maddison is nowhere near good enough in his current state. Liability.
- Kulusevski the only one who can hold his head high.
I do think our fanbase sleep on the talent Alfie Devine has.
Technically amazing, he’s so refined in all his actions. Can take the ball on the half turn beautifully. His touch is always spot on into his stride.
IQ is top too. He knows the exact right time to release and the
What Ange is doing for our two creative midfielders is out of this world.
Giving them so many touches in dangerous areas can only be a good thing.
Kulusevski’s ability to retain possession in the tightest areas and then combine.
Maddison’s ability to roam and then progress
Of course a huge part of the second half improvement is our CB pairing coming on…
But Bentancur has been the key imo. Probably our best presser, able to retain possession and not force the pass forwards every time. So classy on the ball and knows when to recycle.
Bergvall
Odobert with a very, very solid 25 minutes so far. Drive, intent, and off the ball work.
What makes it more impressive,I do not even think this is his best position in this system.
Micky van de Ven deal at advanced stages as per
@FabrizioRomano
.
Here’s a video I made on him about a month ago hoping we’d get him!
• Micky van de Ven, an elite CB in the making? •
(Video 🍿) (3 parts) 👇👇👇
Part 1
Reminds me so much of Eduardo Camavinga…
- Effortless ability to change direction and go through the gears
- Composure in every facet of his game
- So much disguise on all his actions
Genuinely don’t think Maddison should start the Leicester game.
Whether it’s Kulusevski or Bergvall, he hasn’t done enough to stake a claim imo.
Still rate him highly but this healthy competition is what we want! Play players who deserve it not off their name.
How Spurs should approach the transfer window from a Director of Football perspective?
How do you win now, but also win the future? Will we ever have a summer without the word ‘rebuild’ mentioned?
A 🧵 on the realities of Spurs’ summer and how a DOF would approach it.
For 80M we could sign 2 wingers on the same level as Neto from elsewhere. We should not be spending that, especially with the injuries.
Nico Williams 🇪🇸
Matías Soulé 🇦🇷
Michael Olise 🇫🇷
Johan Bakayoko 🇧🇪
Federico Chiesa 🇮🇹
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia 🇬🇪
All better choices.
A lot of people saying Mikey should start over Timo and I hear the arguments but…
Currently Mikey is best in a creative role, receiving in the pockets and picking incisive passes or weaving in and out of challenges.
We currently are playing a midfield pair of Kulusevski and

✍️🏽🧵
Looks like a winger in the perfect Ange mould…
- Great acceleration
- Rapid footwork
- Always committing his full-back
- Operates right on the touchline
This will be another Bergvall/ Vuskovic esque signing which is exactly the way we should continue to operate.
Sarr and
People were tryna tell me Odobert wouldn’t have an impact on the first team this season…
I know what I see with him, a profile we’ve been screaming out for.
Let’s go Wilson 🔥
Not even a bad performance but one thing really stuck in my head.
The technical quality of our team is so much lower than the teams we’re competing with.
Not saying they all have to go but some of our players are so unrefined and stiff that they just can’t undertake a lot of
🚨🔵 Chelsea are in advanced talks to sign Pedro Neto, as
@FabriceHawkins
reports.
Negotiations are taking place with Portuguese winger and Wolves.
He’s one of the main targets for winger position.
Kulusevski and Johnson developing such a nice partnership, on the same wavelength every time.
Underlapping or overlapping each other, helps that Deki can run beyond him if Brennan decoys by coming short.
🚨⚪️ Understand Tottenham have now opened talks to sign Jean Clair Todibo in January.
He’s high on Tottenham list, not easy deal with OGC Nice — but talks now starting.
🇫🇷 Spurs spoke also to player’s camp in the recent days.
Todibo remains also on Man United list since June.
