School of Nursing spring graduates achieved a 97% pass rate on their National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX)! The 2018 national average pass rate is 89.54%, so this called for a celebration. This is the highest pass rate the school has achieved since possibly the 1950s!

Yesterday, 175 incoming medical students participated at the annual M-1 Community Service Day, which benefited 9 Wyandotte County nonprofits. Each of those students volunteered approximately 4 hours for a total of 700 volunteer hours!
Jerrihlyn L. McGee, DNP, has been named vice chancellor for diversity, equity & inclusion. Dr. McGee will serve as the chief diversity officer, lead and coordinate diversity-related initiatives, develop and oversee programs & services designed to enhance cultural competence.

The School of Medicine has named X. Long Zheng, M.D., Ph.D., chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine effective April 2020. "He will provide outstanding guidance to the department," said Akinlolu Ojo, M.D., executive dean for the KU School of Medicine.
