Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day from the @LAPhil! Today, we remember Dr. King for his courage and lifelong dedication to the advancement of civil rights and equality for all. In Duke Ellington’s final composition, “Three Black Kings,” he pays tribute to King Balthazar, King Solomon, and, of course, Dr. King, creating a symphonic eulogy for the revered activist. Take a moment to honor Dr. King with this excerpt of the piece, performed by @GustavoDudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl.
