Spent a part of last year photographing WWII veterans from Western Pa. for a project commemorating the 75th anniversary of D-Day. I've been asked to continue to project. Here are a few veterans that served.

Received word from a friend that artist/educator and jazz vocalist Elizabeth "Betty" Douglas, 92, passed last week in Rochester, PA. She was truly a remarkable lady and I'm so blessed our lives intersected through our appreciation for jazz music. Images of her taken recently.

Dozens gathered for a remembrance ceremony honoring Vietnam veterans at the Vietnam Veterans’ Monument. Fifty years ago, on March 29, 1973, the last U.S. combat troops departed South Vietnam.

More than 200 people gathered to celebrate Nowruz, a traditional Afghan celebration of spring, at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh’s Katz Theater. The event was organized by the newly formed Afghan Friendship Association.

Images that I made of sculptor Thad Mosley, 96, for a story about "SuperAgers" graced the cover and inside pages of the University of Southern California Leonard Davis School of Gerontology Vitality Magazine. Mr. Mosley, of Pittsburgh, can be found working in his studio daily.

Really enjoyed photographing Vietnamese artist and activist Mai Khoi during her performance at the Pittsburgh Playhouse. The show featured original songs and video elements to tell the story of Mai Khoi who is an artist-in-residence at City of Asylum.

Veterans, family members and others gathered for a solemn vigil at the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum in Oakland. The Vietnam Veterans Inc. of Pittsburgh organized the annual POW-MIA vigil to honor those who were prisoners of war and are still missing.

If you're in the Erie area stop by the Erie Art Museum where some of my work is featured in an exhibit about immigration with photogs Brian Cohen, Scott Goldsmith, Lynn Johnson, and Annie O’Neill. The traveling exhibit opened at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh.

More than 50 people gathered Wednesday at the Korean War Memorial in Pittsburgh to mark the 69th anniversary of the Korean Armistice Agreement and to remember those who served. Among those were Don McIlrath, 89, of Penn Hills, who was a tanker in the Army's 3rd Infantry Division.
