This is ABSOLUTELY INSANE.
Tyler1 has just crossed 1900 Elo in chess.
He is now ranked in the top 0.5% IN THE WORLD.
He learned chess 10 months ago. Is this man human?
This is INSANE.
With his victory today, Hikaru Nakamura is now the
#2
ranked chess player in the world, overtaking Caruana.
He crosses the 2800 Elo mark for the first time in nearly TEN YEARS. An unbelievable career resurgence.
This is completely insane.
Tyler1 has just crossed 1700 Elo in chess.
Just 8 months ago, his elo was literally 199.
In less than 1 year, he has become stronger than nearly 99% of all chess players on the planet.
Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu of India 🇮🇳 knocked out Hikaru Nakamura (World
#3
) and Fabiano Caruana (World
#2
) from the Chess World Cup.
His final opponent: Magnus Carlsen, World
#1
, greatest of all time.
Who wins?
Totally insane: Tyler1 has now crossed 1500 chess elo.
He is now ranked in the 97.5% percentile of chess players in the world after playing for 90 days.
Today I beat Hans Niemann!
This is my highest ever win on chesscom.
Every week, I'm shocking myself with my own ability. I've been working extremely hard for the past 2 months, so it is very nice to see the results 🙂
Magnus Carlsen just won the chess World Cup.
The only major tournament he has not won in his illustrious career.
Is he the greatest of all time?

My first classical chess game in 2+ years.
My lowest elo in nearly 10 years.
And I defeated a 2530 GM with the black pieces, the top seed.
I’m so happy I could cry 😭
I won my 5th game in Madrid.
My opponent was Grandmaster Lelys Martinez Duany from Cuba.
It was a tense game. I was lost at one point but clutched it out in the endgame.
4/5 points. 1st place. I need 6.5/9 for a norm.
THIS IS COMPLETELY INSANE.
Tyler1 has just hit 1300 chess elo. 72 hours ago, he hit 1200. He has averaged 40 rapid chess games a day for the past 60 days.
HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?
The only thing Magnus Carlsen has not accomplished is achieving 2900 Elo.
He is currently 2838.8. If he beat me in a chess game, he would gain 0.8 points.
I would love to play a match. Magnus must beat me 76 times in a row to achieve an Elo of 2899.6.
I won my 3rd game in Madrid.
My opponent was a 17-year-old future star of Spain, Diego Macias Pino, 2471 elo.
I have 2.5/3, and I'm in 1st place.
This is the best chess I have ever played in my life.
What an absolutely beautiful moment.
Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu 🇮🇳 just became the youngest Chess World Cup finalist at 18 years old.
The emotions, the love in his mother's eyes...

I lost my 8th round game in Madrid.
My opponent was International Master Julio Suarez, International Master (elo 2477) also tied for first place with me.
I was pressuring most of the game, but I couldn’t find a win. Then I overthought and lost in 1 move.
I’m devastated. Had
The last few days in Madrid have been an absolute revelation for me.
For years, I had settled with the fact that my peak in chess was in 2018 (2421 elo) and I would never get it back. My life goal was finished - International Master. I’m almost 30…
And suddenly… it’s all
Ding Liren almost didn't even play the Candidates.
Ding Liren nearly failed to qualify to play for the title.
Ding Liren trailed 3 times against Nepo in the match.
Ding Liren... is the new World Chess Champion.
Faustino Oro is just 9 years old from Argentina. He just earned his first International Master norm, making him the youngest ever to do so. 2 more and he gets the title. 🔥🇦🇷 Muchachos!
Hans Niemann wins his first game of the US Championship, sits down for an interview, says "this game was so beautiful that I don't even need to describe it", and walks out. Holy content.
I was mocked for my entire childhood.
You see, I played chess. Only nerds played chess, or strange old men at the park.
But I loved chess, so I started teaching. From 2013 to 2020, I taught thousands of students across different ages and levels in New York City.
Now, I teach
This is insane.
Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura has just won 43 blitz chess games in a row, live on stream... he is clearly sending a message regarding the recent comments from Vladimir Kramnik.
I drew my 9th and final game in Madrid.
My opponent was Daniel Tabuenca, rated 2350 at just 15 year old.
The game wasn’t great, and he probably could have pressed for a win, but he needed only a draw to make his 2nd IM norm.
I finished with 5.5/9, and clear 2nd place.
I

BREAKING: Vidit Gujrathi defeats Ian Nepomniachtchi in the World Cup, and is through to the Quarterfinals!
So, 50% of the remaining 8 players are Indian. What an absolutely sensational accomplishment.
Praggnanandhaa, Erigaisi, Gukesh, and Vidit! 🇮🇳 🔥
Magnus Carlsen is currently 2865, with a goal of 2900. By defeating me, he gains 0.8 elo. I am willing to participate in a 44 game match to get him to 2900.2. Just send me location.
In July 2023, for the 1st time ever, my YouTube channel had a female viewing audience of around 10%.
3 years ago, the stats were 99% male, 1% female.
We're up 10x, but we've still got a long way to go in not just accepting women in chess, but also treating them with the
Dear rest of the world, you will probably be seeing Magnus Carlsen and Hans Niemann on your timeline today. Chess is a wonderful game - you should give it a try. We're just having a little drama right now.😄
Tomorrow morning, I will play the final game of my first chess tournament in over 2 years.
I was completely set on retirement. I was dejected, totally unconfident, and willing to settle for where my chess had fallen.
But 40 days ago, everything changed. For reasons I cannot

For years, I have been limited by horrible lower back problems. But with consistent training and perseverance, I am now the strongest I have ever been.
Yesterday, I was on the train in NYC. Two teenagers were arguing about something. To settle it, one goes “1 v 1 me in chess right now bro” and they pulled their phones out and started battling 🤣
Lessons learned from my first chess tournament in 2 years

- Games 6-9 are as important as 1-5. Don’t exhaust yourself too soon.
- No opponents under 15 years old: good
- Literally any position is equal according to Stockfish, whether you like or dislike it
Per Magnus Carlsen, chess needs to modernize.
Do we want chess on TV? Do we want the biggest companies in the world to sponsor your favorite top players?
If so, make chess more accessible. Faster. No more 30 day matches and 6-hour games. Use the best commentators. Deliver an

Long way to go, my friends ☺️
I drew my 7th round game in Madrid.
My opponent was Aaron Alonso, International Master, elo 2460.
It was a weird game… I thought my position was bad, but Stockfish disagreed. I played passively. Then I blundered a pawn like an idiot… and then I saved the endgame!

@irene_sukandar
has defeated Dewa_Kipas 3-0. His accuracy was less than 40% in the games. Over 1 million people watched the match.
Good: Chess can be popular. People who play unfairly will be caught.
Bad: He won $7000 and is being called brave and won’t admit the truth. 😂
@HansMokeNiemann
Hans, you call your own games “perfection”, and this is the analysis of this one. I am hyping you up. I tried staying as neutral as possible during the last year and will continue to showcase your games to the masses.
July 28, 2020. I had just moved in with my girlfriend (now wife). Totally empty, tiny bedroom in our new apartment.
I had watched TierZoo for years. I was so nervous to do this stream together.

This is absolutely INSANE.
Faustino Oro, called the "Messi" of chess, today became the youngest person in history to reach the title of International Master.
He is just 10 YEARS OLD, and he learned to play the game only 4 years ago.
HOW?!
This is Praggnanandhaa and Vaishali Rameshbabu. They just made history.
For the first time ever, 2 siblings will play in the chess candidates tournaments.
There is a chance we may have a brother and a sister as the two World Champions of chess.
