(1) New stats show that Scotland has created over 15,000 ha of new woodland in Scotland last year and just over half of that was native species. It’s a brilliant achievement and the highest overall level for 34 years! ➡️

There’s nothing like the sizzle of a barbecue on a summer’s day.  But barbecues and campfires in the wrong place can cause wildfires. If you're planning to cook at our destinations, make sure you use a camp stove. #RespectProtectEnjoy

The eye-catching marsh marigold grows in damp habitats like marshes and woodlands. One of the Gaelic names for the plant reminds us of the folkloric water horse. Have a go at the pronunciation for yourself!

Deadwood plays an important role in nature. Many species forage, shelter and rear young in and around deadwood and old trees. Decaying wood also recycles important nutrients back into the soil.  Help Scotland’s wildlife by leaving it in place. #RespectProtectEnjoy #InsectWeek
