SAM NUJOMA I am deeply saddened by the death of Comrade Dr Sam Nujoma. Even though his physical demise was expected, as all of us will sure pass on, Comrade Nujoma's passing away is a shock. His extraordinary leadership and life commitment to the cause of ending colonialism, imperialism, and apartheid will always be a source of inspiration for us. He fought and inspired our generation for the liberation struggle. He gave us hope and a vision for the future. His legacy is one that's very insipring: that you don’t give up, you keep on trying. We’ll never know when life would end. Here today and gone tomorrow. May he rest in peace. May those who followed in his leadership shoes learn the art of selfless serving and sacrifice. May we all renew our resolve to let no one suffer when we can do something about it. May those who bully and inflict pain, suffering, and discrimination NEVER NEVER and NEVER get away with it. May his spirit of serving live within us forever. Your memories live with us! Fred M'membe President of the Socialist Party [Zambia]

RELEASE MUMBI PHIRI @HHichilema - there's no aggravated robbery Mrs Mumbi Phiri has committed in Kawambwa or elsewhere. Actually, the ones who committed aggravated robbery are known UPND cadres against Comrade Evaristo Nswima. The matter was reported to police in Kawambwa on the day it happened. But to date, no arrests have been made. There's no evidence, concocted or otherwise, linking Mrs Phiri to any aggravated robbery. We demand her immediate release. Such injustices should not be committed in our name, the name of the people of Zambia. The police should not be an instrument for political vengeance by those in power. Fred M'membe President of the Socialist Party

The Socialist Party [Zambia] welcomes the United States' decision to remove Cuba from the list of states that the Government of the US considers as sponsors of terrorism. For this to be meaningful, it must be accompanied by the United States' removal of the political and economic blockade of Cuba that accompanied such categorisation. The Socialist Party [Zambia] will continue its solidarity work with the Communist Party of Cuba, the Government, and the people of the Republic of Cuba and we will also join the international call for the elimination of the unjust blockade that hurts the people of Cuba and Cuba’s international solidarity work. @SPZambia Fred M'membe President of the Socialist Party [Zambia]
