Happy New Year! Thank you everyone for your interest, support & encouragement this year. Without you, my Antarctic expedition would not have been realised. May our 2024 be peaceful & more sustainable. Ad Astra!
ANTARCTICNEWS: Sat Nov 18th 8.30pm (Irish time). It’s very cold on deck now. We have sighted our first iceberg as we journey south, headed to Elephant Island, known for being the location where Shackletons crew waited as he,Tom Crean & Frank Worsley headed to S Georgia for help.
ANTARCTICNEWS: Sun Nov 19th. We are now crossing the Drake Passage, quite stormy which is normal for this region. Heading towards King George Island, abandoned Elephant Island leg due to the storm. Decks are closed, we stay indoors. Everyone is safe & well.
