Friendly reminder that November 30th is the last date to apply lawn fertilizer. Starting December 1st until April 1st, applying lawn fertilizer is not allowed. Help us protect our water quality and prevent more nutrients from entering our lakes!

We are in Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) season and there have already been reports of many HABs observed on Skaneateles Lake. CCE Onondaga and partners will be holding an event on October 9th on HABs and Skaneateles Lake. Register here:

May is National Wetlands Month! Wetlands are sponges that act as “nature’s kidneys,” soaking up & filtering excess nutrients & pollutants. In 2025 the DEC will expand its jurisdiction to include an extra 1 million acres of wetlands. Read more:
