A lot of trolls are claiming I’m ashamed of God’s word being spread. Nope. I’m ashamed of so called Christians reducing the sacredness of our holy scriptures down to a petty political tool in their perceived culture war while blatantly ignoring the religious freedom of others.

I titled this devotional “When Love Gets The Last Word” because that is the hope I continue to draw from the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus. That no matter how discouraging the world may be around us love will not only prevail but will get the last word.

It’s interesting how many of the replies say “so, the same thing?” Sure, if you really think Christians and our country are the same thing. I wrote this with the conviction that the church is not the country, but the reverse belief is what has lead to a lot of the mess we are in

If our politics as Christians cause us to be more suspicious about how a poor single parent spends their welfare check than we are about how billionaires use their wealth to gain unprecedented access to our nation’s halls of power, we need a grand reversal.

When you worship wealth, you will shame the poor and hold them accountable to the strictest of moral standards while praising the rich and holding them accountable to no standard at all.
