Students and staff, past and present, were at Wakefield HC today competing in the Yorkshire Cup pre-season tournament 🏆 Mrs Parkinson and former Graduate Hockey Assistants, Mr Lemos & Mr Anderson, all representing Wakefield HC against various 1st XI students at Ben Rhydding HC

Whilst away at Hymers, the U13s and U12s took to the field 🏑 U13A 5-3 L 💭 U13B 5-0 L 💭 U12A 2-0 L 💭 U12B 1-0 W ✅ A huge well done to all, but especially the U12s who were shattered after their Year 7 residential this week! ☀️ Many thanks to @HymersSport 🙏 #HocAge

Two keen 1st XI lower sixth students assisted Mr Zoers-Benstead with setting up the hall and field after school on Friday ready for the weekend’s fixtures 🥅 They then went on to their trial at @westyorkshockey 🏑 Many thanks to the #FacilitiesTeam 👏 #HocAge #BGSHockey

The first full week back to School saw the 1st XIs further their preparation for the year ahead with Mr Nabozny on the field 💪 Testing speed over 40m and any that missed the 30.15 IFT (Intermittent Field Test) last week catching up on that 🏃‍♀️💨 #DataCrunching

After only two full days back at school, we headed to @RishworthSport for our first group of Saturday fixtures away in Halifax last weekend 🏑 U15 Girls 2-1 L 💭 U14 Girls 3-0 W ✅ U13A Girls 6-1 W ✅ U13B Girls 6-4 L 💭 Many thanks to Rishworth for hosting 🙏

It also gave new hockey staff recruits, Mr Barber and Mr Dunstan, time on pitch to meet and coach the new generation of senior players at BGS Likewise an opportunity for players to meet and get to know Mr Barber and Mr Dunstan 👨‍🏫

The Play-Off Results against Taunton and Godolphin & Latymer saw us top the group at the close of play Sunday 🥇 Such a great experience to play schools outside of the region
