Trading is what is known as a ‘Wicked Problem’ that most people mistakenly think is a ‘Tame Problem’, easy to solve. A tame problem is a relatively simple problem. Trading appears like this when you aren’t in it. Wicked problems, are complex problems, difficult to fully understand, let alone resolve due to their complex and dynamic nature. From the outside it can seem easy. You just buy ‘low’, you sell ‘high’ - Simple eh!!!! It’s when you get into it that starts becoming more complex. When is low? What happens when that turns out not to be the low? How much lower could it go? When is high? When do you commit? How much do you commit? When should you enter? When do you exit? When you throw the towel in on an idea? How do you form an idea? How you do you deal with misleading information. How do you know how much is discounted. How do you know how far it’ll move? Is it a correction or a direction change? Should you close, hold, double, flip? Why isn’t it doing why it did last time? Why does it always do what I think it’ll do when I’m not involved? Why does it never do what I think it’ll do when am not involved? Why can’t I buy a winning trade? These are some of the more simple questions Trading is indeed ‘wicked’
