We were privileged that Helen performed at the Almeida a number of times in her career, most recently in Ibsen’s Rosmersholm in 2008.

We are so sad to hear of the passing of actor Marcello Magni. Marcello appeared on the Almeida stage many times, most recently earlier this year in The Chairs. He will be greatly missed. We send deepest condolences to Kathryn and all his family and friends.

Our theatre has had many lives. Built in 1837 it began as the Islington Literary and Scientific Society, the Salvation Army bought it in 1890 and owned it for 65 years, it was then briefly a factory and showroom and then finally, in 1980, it opened as a theatre
