The antisemitic video circulating today is disgusting. The comments are vile. The footage is sickening and shameful. These antisemitic comments, driven by hate, have no place in our health system and no place anywhere in Australia. These individuals have been stood down by NSW Authorities. They have rightly been referred to the NSW Police for criminal investigation. Individuals found to have committed criminal antisemitic acts will face the full force of our laws.

Regional Australians need reliable, quality transport to stay connected and thriving. So today we’re backing REX airlines to ensure regional communities have access to crucial regional flights. We won’t leave these communities behind and we'll keep building Australia’s future right across our country.

This morning I had a great conversation with President @realDonaldTrump We committed to working constructively together to advance Australian and American interests, drive economic prosperity and face shared challenges. For decades, the Alliance between the United States and Australia has served the interests of both our nations, and supported peace, stability and growth in our region. I look forward to working closely with President Trump to create jobs and deliver benefits for both our nations.

Our Future Made in Australia plan is all about Australian workers and Australian companies making things here. Because good jobs and fair wages depend on successful businesses. Just like the governments of John Curtin and Ben Chifley after WWII, Australia has a choice today. We can build a future for Australia with thriving industries through measures like Free TAFE, the National Reconstruction Fund and Production Tax Credits. Or we could go back down the road of sending jobs offshore like the Liberals and Nationals did when they were last in government. The choice is clear. We are building up our industrial base. To create more jobs and more prosperity for Australia.

Opportunity, safety, and genuine investment are key to healthy communities. That’s why we’re strengthening services in remote Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory. Today's funding agreement with the NT Government and Aboriginal Peak Organisations NT will support local leadership. It's about creating jobs, and making sure families get the care and support they need from services like the Central Australian Aboriginal Congress here in Alice Springs. My Government remains determined to seek better results for Indigenous Australians to help Close the Gap.

If you needed more proof the Liberals still don't value TAFE, here it is: they just voted against our bill to make free TAFE permanent. Since this post we’ve saved TAFE from Liberal cuts, helped 600,000 Australians study for free, and now we’re making free TAFE permanent. And the Liberals have said no every step of the way.
There are 140,000 fewer apprentices and trainees under the Liberals. The Liberals have cut more than $3,000,000,000 from TAFE and training since they were elected. To this Government, TAFE isn’t something to be treasured. It’s just something to be trashed.

Creating opportunity for women is a matter of national interest and a driver of national success. Because when women get ahead, Australia moves forward. Ahead of International Women’s Day, we reflect on how far we’ve come and the work still ahead. In the last three years, we’ve made overdue changes: expanding Paid Parental Leave, delivering a 15% pay rise for early educators, strengthening protections against workplace harassment, and bringing the gender pay gap to an all-time low. We’re taking action on violence against women - investing in crisis housing, supporting survivors, and focusing on prevention. And we’re driving change in child care, with a new 3-Day Guarantee to support Aussie families and make sure every child has access to quality early education. But there’s more to do. And we’ll keep working until fairness, safety, and opportunity are a reality for everyone in Australia.

A positive discussion as always - Australia stands with the courageous and inspirational Ukrainian people in their defence of national sovereignty and the international rule of law.
I spoke with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese @AlboMP and thanked for Australia’s unwavering support for Ukraine and our people. It is crucial that our coalition in defense of international law remains truly global. We are also working to expedite the new defense aid package. We discussed strengthening sanctions against Russia for its war, and Australia is ready to take further steps. Ukraine’s priority remains reliable security guarantees, reinforcing our defense, and increasing pressure on Russia to end the war. We also addressed diplomatic efforts and appreciate Australia’s firm stance that all substantive negotiations on Ukraine must include Ukraine—this is the only way to achieve a just peace. Additionally, we must establish all the circumstances surrounding the case of Australian citizen Oscar Jenkins, who fought for Ukraine and has been taken prisoner by Russia.

More tragic news from Queensland today, with police confirming a woman has died near Ingham in floodwaters. I’m thinking of the family and the community during this incredibly difficult time. We continue to work with the Queensland Government to assist, with whatever resources are required.
