You know what? I'd rather stick my neck out, and be criticized by this president
than bury my head in the sand, and be judged by history.
If only more of my GOP colleagues could find the courage to do the same.
During impeachment, Republicans said “let the voters decide.”
Now that the voters have decided and Trump has lost,
Republicans are suing to overturn the election.
It's clear it was never about the voters, our constitution, or our democracy.
Only staying in power.
Let’s make this clear:
Donald Trump lost. By a lot.
And in defeat, Trump could care less about a worsening pandemic and stalling economy.
His efforts to steal the election are a national embarrassment. Worse, they damage our democracy.
Trump is the worst president in history.
BREAKING NEWS: Kevin McCarthy just kicked me off the House Intelligence Committee.
And here’s why: I fought him and Donald Trump when they tried to tear down our democracy.
If he thinks this will stop me, he will soon find out differently.
President Trump once turned my name into a profanity on Twitter — he’s in no position to complain about coarse language.
No one has done more to debase our political discourse, or fill the public square with vulgar insults and bile, than Donald J. Trump.
Imagine for a moment you are President of the United States.
You can convene the best minds to address the world’s most pressing problems, and improve the lives of millions
Instead, you watch a single TV network, promote and defend those who propagate your falsehoods
How sad.
The President just went on Fox to complain about the facts we set out in the Democratic memo. He called me “a bad guy.” All I can say is — I’m proud to be a bad hombre.
We have impeachment for a reason:
For a man who would sell out his country for a political favor,
Who would threaten the integrity of our elections,
Who would invite foreign interference in our affairs,
Who would undermine our national security,
For a man like Donald Trump.
It's the anniversary of the GOP tax bill. The President called it “a bill for the middle class.”
So how's it going?
U.S. companies announced over $400bn in stock buybacks.
The Dow is down 2000 points.
GM is laying off 14,000 workers.
And your pay raise was lost in the mail.
Number of House Republicans who voted in favor of:
H.R. 6400, the 1965 Voting Rights Act: 112
H.R. 9, the 2006 bill to reauthorize it: 192
H.R. 4, yesterday’s bill to restore it: 1
Why? The GOP’s hopes depend on fewer people voting.
I knew today would be a great day to launch my campaign for Senate.
For a lot of reasons. Including this one:
Happy birthday, Kevin McCarthy.
I’m running to be your next U.S. Senator!
When you push reckless policies that squander our resources, defy our values, leave 800,000 federal workers unpaid and millions of Americans without needed services, you don’t need to declare a national emergency.
You are the national emergency.

Senate Republicans have blocked three critical election security bills. Again.
That make voting machines harder to hack.
And require illegal foreign interference to be reported to authorities.
All blocked.
Americans want to know: why won’t the GOP protect our elections?
John Bolton once suggested Russian hack of DNC may have been a false flag operation by Obama Admin. He joins Joe diGenova, another Fox contributor, who thinks the FBI conspired to frame the President. Glad to see
@POTUS
surrounding himself with rational thinkers. Heaven help us.
In the two weeks since the GOP Senate refused to hold Trump accountable, he has:
—Intervened in the sentencing of his accomplice
—Called for prosecution of his “enemies”
—Punished those who spoke out out
—Fired the DNI for briefing Congress
Are they proud of their vote now?
Last night, McConnell claimed “Republicans were advocating for a package just like this one, all along, in real time.”
That’s just not true.
They opposed a bill at $3.2 trillion, $2 trillion, $1.8 trillion and, yes, $900 billion. In real time.
Don’t let him gaslight you.
Having so many colleagues join me in solidarity today meant the world to me—including Speaker Pelosi, Leader Jeffries, and Reps Aguilar, Goldman, Raskin, Lee and Swalwell.
I was proud to fight for our democracy against Trump, and I am proud to have these colleagues by my side.
Trump accused me of treason and said I should be investigated. And someone needed to “do something” about me.
Now I have learned they sought my data from Apple. It's shocking and yet, not at all surprising.
The damage he did will take years to repair. But that work has begun.
First, a court found Donald Trump to be a sexual abuser.
He was then found to be a fraudulent business owner.
Now Donald J. Trump is a convicted felon.
All are an affirmation of the rule of law.
And Trump’s unfitness for office.
Not a single member of the House voted against making the Mueller report and findings public, but now Senator Lindsey Graham is blocking a vote in the Senate.
There’s no justification for trying to keep the report hidden unless you’re afraid of what it might contain.
So funny to see little Adam Schitt (D-CA) talking about the fact that Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker was not approved by the Senate, but not mentioning the fact that Bob Mueller (who is highly conflicted) was not approved by the Senate!
The Trump campaign’s contact with the Russians was immoral, unethical, unpatriotic. And yes, corrupt. If it was a crime was Bob Mueller’s call, which I respect.
But none of it was ok. The day we think it was, is the day we look back and say, that was when America lost its way.
Adam Schiff goes off, lists the Trump Tower meeting, sharing of polling data, call to hack Clinton, Kushner back channel, and more: "You might say that's all OK ... I think it's unpatriotic. And yes, I think it's corrupt and evidence of collusion."
Let’s be clear about what the former president is saying here.
House Republicans should shut down the government unless the prosecutions against him are shut down.
He would deny paychecks to millions of working families & devastate the US economy, all in the service of himself.
Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump stacked the Supreme Court. We must unstack it.
That means:
— Expanding the number of Justices
— Imposing reasonable term limits
— Instituting a code of ethics
I have some bad news, Mr. President. That time you told Lester Holt that you were thinking about the Russia investigation when you fired Comey? That was on prime time television and the ratings were excellent.
Not that it matters but I never fired James Comey because of Russia! The Corrupt Mainstream Media loves to keep pushing that narrative, but they know it is not true!
I went on Fox News Sunday because I want to make sure every American hears the facts:
While Mueller did not charge the president with criminal conspiracy, he did find evidence of collusion.
He found ample evidence of obstruction, but left it to Congress to pursue.
And we will.
100 Days into the Democratic House, and we’ve introduced and passed bills to:
Raise wages,
Defend the ACA,
Fight corruption,
Protect voting rights,
End dark money,
Protect equality, and
Reform gun laws.
And we’re just getting started.
Today on the floor,
@SpeakerPelosi
spoke on my behalf, and this is what she said:
"Today we are on the floor of the House, where the other side has turned this chamber—where slavery was abolished, where Medicare and Social Security were instituted—they’ve turned it into a puppet
A partial list of Trump associates having secret meetings or discussions with Russians:
Don Jr., Paul Manafort, Jared Kushner, Jeff Sessions, Michael Flynn, Erik Prince, Michael Cohen, George Papadopolous, Carter Page...
Sorry, which of these are Democrats?
There was No Collusion with Russia (except by the Democrats). When will this very expensive Witch Hunt Hoax ever end? So bad for our Country. Is the Special Counsel/Justice Department leaking my lawyers letters to the Fake News Media? Should be looking at Dems corruption instead?
Trump is resisting every Congressional request for testimony and documents related to our oversight responsibility.
Like an aspiring autocrat, he doesn’t recognize the co-equal branches of our government.
He has lived his entire life without accountability.
That ends now.
NEWS: President Trump tells The Post in an interview tonight that House Dems should be satisfied w/ the Mueller report and he opposes having aides testify.
“There is no reason to go any further, and especially in Congress where it’s very partisan."
Only under Trump could a Navy Secretary say he fired a captain for poor judgement,
Then fly to Guam to attack the captain as “too stupid or too naive,”
Then refuse to back down, only to apologize hours later,
Only to resign for poor judgment.
The incompetence is breathtaking.
A deeply unethical man is running our country.
A deeply flawed and untruthful man may be appointed to the Supreme Court for life.
A deeply compromised and complicit Congress does nothing about it.
Vote as if your country depended on it.
Because it does.
If a President could declare an emergency every time Congress refused to fund a pet project, we’d be in a constant state of emergency. Trump may try anyway; he’s painted himself in a corner.
But his need to save face is not a national emergency.
Only a national tragedy.
Here’s some good news:
The Senate *finally* confirmed President Biden’s two picks for the Postal Service Board of Governors.
But here’s the even better news:
They can finally fire Trump’s Postmaster General, Louis DeJoy. And roll back his most dangerous cuts.
This weekend, the president’s tv lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, said that:
Colluding with the Russians to influence our election is not a crime;
Paying hush money to influence a campaign is not a crime;
And even if it is, it’s not a “big crime”.
Apparently “crime” isn’t “crime”.
Given the significance of Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court and the profound effect it may have on the country for a generation — on choice, marriage, the ACA, and much more — McConnell must abide by the precedent he set: no hearing until the voters can be heard.
The President suspended military exercises with South Korea and got nothing for it. Reversed course on ZTE sanctions and got no trade concessions from China. It’s time we accepted the fact that he may be a great self-promoter, but the President is in fact a terrible negotiator.
Russia was kicked out of the G8 for invading a neighbor in 2014. Since then they’ve shot down a commercial airliner, committed war crimes in Syria, and interfered with our elections.
None of this is “ancient history.” Your appeasement of Putin is a threat to the free world.
Trump: "Something happened a while ago" for Russia to be kicked out of the G8 (read: annexation of Crimea).
Trump on letting Russia back in: "It would be an asset to have Russia back in ... it would be good for Russia. It would be good for the U.S."
Before meeting Putin, the President will play golf at his course in Scotland, which he paid for with millions in cash. Where did the cash come from? His son, Eric, has said they get all the money they need from Russia.
Is that why
@POTUS
won’t confront Putin? We need to know.
“Sinkholes of money.” Trump’s Scotland property cost more than $50 million in 2014. He bought it even though it was losing money. Since then, he’s spent more than $85 million on renovations – but the resort continues to lose millions of dollars each year.
Members of Congress pledge to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
But most Republicans in Congress view their jobs as defending the President against all investigations, both congressional and law enforcement.
Let’s throw the bums out in November.
We all know Mitch McConnell will never change.
We can't and shouldn't waste more time expecting him to do the right thing. He won't.
If we want to make real progress and move our country forward together, then we need to abolish the filibuster.
Now.
No, Mr. President. Your wall won't "pay for itself."
Mexico won't pay for it either.
And the taxpayers did not sign up for this.
It’s time to reopen the government,
So you can go on to your next broken promise.
Joe Biden will go down in history as one of the greatest presidents of our time. He led our nation out of a deadly pandemic and rescued our economy.
I am excited to endorse
@KamalaHarris
for President, and give her my full support!
Let's go win:
So nice to get together with Alex and Eugene Vindman, two great patriots.
Just back from Ukraine, they gave me another invaluable briefing on the progress of the counteroffensive, the lasting impacts of Prigozhin’s rebellion and how the U.S. can be even more effective in our
Elon Musk just fired half of the Election Integrity Team at X.
Allowing election misinformation to fester on this platform opens our democracy up to further attack and disinformation.
But Elon seems fine with that.
Trump will never change. He’ll only get worse.
Here's what we can do:
Register your friends to vote.
Volunteer.
Vote him, and those who defend him, out of office.
And love your neighbor. No matter who they are or where they're from. There's no better antidote than that.
The Secret Service spent over $250k at Trump properties in just 5 months.
How much taxpayer money has gone into Trump’s pocket?
We still don’t know. I’ve introduced a bill requiring disclosure.
We should know the price tag for the President’s lack of basic ethics.
Tonight, Donald Trump attacked me at CPAC not just once, but 3 times.
He called for me to be investigated and lose my law license. Even called my words “pure bullshit.”
He’s always projected his own immorality onto others.
No longer President. But still the same grifter.
BREAKING: MAGA Republicans passed their resolution to censure me.
We face many pressing challenges as a country. Instead of addressing them,
@SpeakerMcCarthy
took up a MAGA effort to distract from Trump’s legal woes.
They will never stop doing his bidding.
When Barack Obama picked Joe Biden as VP in 2008, he hit a home run.
Well, Joe Biden picking Kamala Harris is a grand slam. Kamala is a brilliant and dedicated public servant.
California has been lucky to have her as Senator, and now the nation will be lucky to have her as VP.
We still don’t know how much Trump is profiting at taxpayers’ expense. He refuses to tell us.
But with $650 a night hotel bills, we know it’s a lot.
Americans deserve to know what the President is charging the American people for his vacations.
NEW:
@realdonaldtrump
’s company charges Trump’s own Secret Service agents while they protect him — at rates as high as $650/night for a room and $17,000/month for a cottage. Taxpayers pay.
In Barr’s America, a president can shut down an investigation in which he is implicated if he thinks it unwarranted.
He can shut down every probe referred to other offices.
He cannot be held accountable.
Barr’s America doesn’t look much like America. Looks more like —
Russia.
Gilroy last week. El Paso this week.
Every week a new tragedy. Every week a new family has a loved one taken away.
The House passed HR 8 and HR 1112.
Mitch McConnell won’t even allow a vote.
But we have the power to do something.
We can vote them out. Enough is enough.
Justice Clarence Thomas talks a lot about his motorhome.
Well, this week we learned that that a wealthy friend in the health care industry helped him pay $267,000 for it — and he refused to disclose it.
We need a SCOTUS code of ethics. And we need it now.
A good man resigns as Defense Secretary,
The acting Attorney General ignores the advice of ethics lawyers,
And the government is shutting down.
This is what happens when an administration is both unethical and incompetent.
As I walked off the House Floor,
@RepLuna
, someone I've not met until today...
…A person I couldn’t have picked out of a lineup...
Told me she’s filing **another** censure resolution next week, “and this one will pass.”
They aren't giving up. But I’ve got news: neither am I.
Fox News hosts pushed a big lie about our election that undermined the foundation of our democracy and got people killed in a failed insurrection.
And they knew exactly what they were doing.
Why did they do it? The same reason they pushed deadly lies about the pandemic.
Money.
BREAKING NEWS:
A MAGA Republican Member of Congress just filed a motion to expel me from the U.S. House of Representatives.
I stood up to Donald Trump and held extreme MAGA forces accountable. Now they want payback.
They’ll go after anyone who defends the rule of law.
The instances of corrupt behavior by the Trump Campaign were too numerous for us to fit into this segment.
Criminal or not, this is evidence of corrupt, unethical, immoral and unpatriotic acts.
And nobody should think those kinds of actions are ok.
"The evidence of collusion is in plain sight...let me tell you what some of that evidence is..."
Like the veteran prosecutor that he is,
@AdamSchiff
lays out his case. He distinguishes between provable criminality & corruption.
Full interview:
By his own account, John Bolton witnessed the president betraying his office, putting his interests before the nation, and demonstrating a shocking weakness and immorality.
He decided to save it for his book.
Americans will do the right thing in November.
No thanks to Bolton.
Trump on Putin: "He said he didn't meddle” in our election
On MBS: He “vehemently denies” arranging Khashoggi's murder
On Kim: “I will take him at his word” on Otto Warmbier's death
Trump has yet to find a dictator he won't trust over our own intel agencies
Or common sense.
Good news: If you failed to disclose numerous meetings with hostile foreign powers and amended your financial disclosures 40+ times, you too can obtain a security clearance in Trump's Administration!
*Offer only valid to those married to the President's daughter or named Jared.
Trump was just indicted by federal prosecutors for trying to overturn the 2020 election.
We’re coming toward an inflection point— and a fraught moment in the history of our democracy.
But frankly, considering the interests of justice and the rule of law, it’s about damn time.
Trump: The automobile industry is dead. The water coming here is dead, and Gavin Newscum is going to sign those papers. And if he doesn't sign those papers, we won't give him money to put out all his fires. If we don’t give him the money, he’s got problems
The President of the United States is an imminent danger to our nation and democracy.
He incited a violent mob attack on the Capitol. He turned on his own citizens to hold onto power.
He should be removed. Either through resignation, the 25th Amendment or impeachment.
The idea of congressional oversight is alien to the president, and who can blame him? For two years, the GOP did nothing but shield him from accountability.
Those days are over. We will not choose between our legislative and oversight responsibilities. Congress must do both.
The Justice Department cannot take the position that a sitting president can’t be indicted, and at the same time withhold evidence of any wrongdoing.
That would amount to immunity.
We will do what is necessary to make sure Mueller’s report is made public.
Rep. Adam Schiff tells me he is “absolutely” prepared to sue Trump administration if Mueller report is not made public: “We will obviously subpoena the report. We will bring Bob Mueller in to testify before Congress. We will take it to court if necessary”
You name it, House and Senate Republicans are opposed to it:
COVID relief? Against it.
Student debt? That too.
Voting rights? They want to make it harder to vote.
Climate action? Nope.
Getting more people healthcare? Never.
What are they for? Nothing but themselves.
Kevin McCarthy is desperate to keep the support of Trump and his House backers.
He’ll do whatever Marjorie Taylor Greene and the QAnon caucus wants.
And that means following the wishes of the lowest common denominator.
Brace yourselves America. The clown car has come to town.
Good news! Convicted of a serious crime? Serving a long sentence? Now, you too can get a pardon. No more lengthy delays while DOJ reviews your case. You can be out in days!*
*Offer only valid if recommended by friends or family of
@POTUS
or you appeared on Celebrity Apprentice.
McConnell is promising that if he retakes the Senate, he won’t confirm a Biden Supreme Court Justice.
Just as he refused with President Obama.
Never mind that he forced through the last Trump nominee WHILE PEOPLE WERE VOTING.
He must never be allowed to run the Senate again.
President Biden delivered on his promise to cancel student loans, and now a reactionary Supreme Court has overturned it.
Fortunately, the administration is going to use other means to deliver relief to borrowers.
Let’s break down what they’re doing:
Remember when Republicans said they wouldn't cut Medicare and Medicaid to pay for their
#GOPTaxScam
?
Well, Trump's budget cuts Medicare by $840 billion and Medicaid by $241 billion.
In contrast, Democrats want to expand healthcare for all.
The choice couldn't be clearer.
We did not come to Congress to impeach this President.
We came to fight for health care, gun reform, voting rights, equal pay.
But history called upon us to uphold our oath. And we have.
Together, we will emerge from this dark chapter.
And make our democracy stronger still.
