Dear
@tiktok_us
My name is Wes. I'm the CEO of Gun Interactive, the creators of
@TXChainSawGame
Players are creating content on your platform with our game and you are hitting them with DMCA.
They can make whatever they want with our game/music. Legal will reach out. thx.
I would like to thank all the passionate fans of F13 for their support and dedication over the years with our game. As for Gun, we're focused on finishing The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and giving our fans another authentic asymmetrical horror experience to sink their teeth into.
Three years ago today my company and life changed forever. A heartfelt thank you to the fans and passionate players around the world. Mommy is proud of you all.

To each their own. I think she's stunning. Kelly's features are so striking and eye catching. A truly unforgettable and distinct person. Which is why she had a lucrative career as a fashion model. Kelly's work with Vogue and Prada was amazing IMO.
If you want/expect
@TXChainSawGame
to be like another game on the market, you probably won’t like it.
If you want to play something new, with different ideas from a team trying to push this genre forward, I think you’ll like it.
We’re not done yet. ⛓️🪚
Cosmetics and content are coming to
@TXChainSawGame
however our primary focus right now are bug fixes and more server stability. Please be patient with us. Cool stuff on the horizon. ❤️
I'm seeing tweets saying "Why so cheap?" to
@TXChainSawGame
being $39.99
Some games are $69.99. Some are $59.99, and so on.
If this upsets you, I understand and you can venmo me another $10 or $20 if that helps you.
It's
@TXChainSawGame
launch week. I'm taking a moment to remind you that humans make games. We eat, sleep, & have feelings & frustrations just like you. We are a mixture of excited, stressed and tired.
Be a homie during this launch. Be cool to us. <3
No, Sissy is not "wifey material", she's a psycho. Also, Johnny is not going to "change his ways and settle down" for you, so please stop asking me. I have work to do.
Hate to hear this. I always want to see games succeed, especially asymmetrical horror. We need more games like this on the market to keep the genre alive and well.
As we approach the launch of
@TXChainSawGame
I wanted to remind you that the ULA that comes with the game includes music licensing language that protects content creators. What this means is we are granting you the right to STREAM EVERYTHING including the music within the game.
It's OK if you don't know who Greg Nicotero is. Let me help. He was the FX specialist on:
Predator
Dune
Day of the Dead
Exorcist
Creepshow 2
Evil Dead 2
Misery
New Nightmare
Scream 1 & 2
Kill Bill 1&2
(and literally hundreds more)
Oh, and he's the director of The Walking Dead.
Friendly reminder. We have the interactive rights to the 1974 film. We can't put characters or locations in from other TX films because we don't have those rights.
Demanding we add them is not how Hollywood works. Licensing in general is usually a total mess.
Four years ago today
@Friday13thGame
was released. To some, it's just a game. And that's totally fine. It meant a far deal more to me. I just want to thank each of you for going on this journey with us. Camp would have sucked without you.
Onward and upward!
We are working on weather for TX. Thunder, rain, etc. You'll get a first glimpse of our work with this map. You can see the storm in the distance. Future maps will have rain with some intense storms. This is not a dynamic weather system, but a bespoke one for each map.
Spend months crafting a new family member. Give her a rich backstory. Study female serial killers from the past and create an deadly mixture of traits into Nancy. Show our creation to fans.
Fans: "She kinda low-key thick. She can get it."
Nancy's House, the new free map coming to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, is releasing today around 2PM EST!
New Victim Danny and New Family Member Nancy will be available to play too.
Who will be brave enough to face off against Nancy?
Hard to believe it was five years ago today! Ya'll sent me a lot of stories and happy memories about F13 today.
I'm very excited to show you our next passion project. I hope that years from now you come back to me with stories about
@TXChainSawGame
Love ya'll. -W
The second we decided to put the ability to crouch in the game we knew this would happen. We can't penalize someone for crouching. We can't really write code that would know the difference.
Also it's more of a slow jam t-bag. More sensual. It's the Jagged Edge of T-bags.
If you want to provide us with feedback about the game, we'd love to hear it. If you mix in insults with your feedback, that's not being constructive. Calling me or anyone on my team "incompetent" is not how you engage meaningful discussions. The fact I have to say this is wild.
Tobe Hooper was the director of the original 1974 Texas Chain Saw Massacre. He passed in 2017.
I hope we did him justice. I hope he knows that we approached this with white gloves and reverence.
I hope an entire new generation of people watch his film.
@TXChainSawGame
Are you a streamer/content creator?
Are you interested in
@LayersOfFear2
by chance?
If yes, then holla at your boy to get hooked up.
If you spoke to someone
@fearthegun
you're all set, BUT a signal boost would be appreciated. <3
I just implemented a 4 day work week at Gun. On Sept 1 employees do not work on Fridays. I want them to spend more time with friends/family, & chasing hobbies that fulfill them.
If you're a CEO I urge you to try this. Happy refreshed people make better products.
@fearthegun
@weskeltner
unfortunately this game won't last long. Every match is the same, there's lack of content, objectives, nothing really changes from one match to another. Same killers, same survivors, same doors to open, same tool boxes to find, same traps to get through. I got bored quickly.
It's hard to put into words how this feels to the whole team
@fearthegun
and
@NottinghamSumo
9/10 is surreal to see. I'm still smiling. And I'm so, so proud of both Sumo and Gun!
My legal team and I are working on a license that will be included with the EULA of
@TXChainSawGame
This will grant streamers and youtubers the right to play our game music.
We will send all 3rd party
#DMCA
music bot companies a copy of this license.
Create change.
13 straight hours in the office
@fearthegun
and we launched a game today. A good game.
I’m very lucky I get to work alongside each of you. You rise to every problem with innovation and creativity.
I’m proud of you.
Willing this into existence:
Assassins Creed mixed w/ Batman Arkham Series. But it's based on the 1994 film The Crow. You hunt criminals via crow sight. Find them, torture, & kill them. Creative kills unlock new abilities. Play riffs on rooftops via guitarhero style mini games.
I wish we could have had the update done today, that would have been cool, with the calendar date and all. But it's not quite done yet. We weren't going to rush it, and release a bad update. Please be patient as the team
@IllFonic
continues to bust ass.
@weskeltner
@TXChainSawGame
Holy crap! The fact that you guys included this symbol in the back of grandpas chair even tho we don’t see it in the film. But was indeed on the script shows the lengths you guys took to give us an authentic experience…😮💨
Let’s refrain from takes like this, please. We should all be excited that horror is doing so well! It means we will see more of them in the future.
Also, Evil Dead isn’t a “AAA” game. And you should be thrilled that it isn’t.
Shout out to the fans that have been cheering us on for the last couple years. We all see you in the comments. We see your enthusiasm and well wishes. It means the world to everyone that has touched this game. I need you to know we think you're pretty dang cool.
@TXChainSawGame
Said goodbye to my best friend this morning. I remember picking him up at 8 weeks old. He was funny, loving, and never met a person he didn’t like. I’m going to miss you, Indy.
He was 13, and a good boy.
I can’t stress enough how rare it is for a title to break 1m units sold. This was only possible because of you. Thank you horror nerds!
2024 is going to be a good year for TX!
Over 1 million units of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre sold!
To all 5.6 million players who stepped into Texas, thank you for sharing this unique horror experience with us!
I'm about to blow some of your minds.
Did you know that while a group of engineers are fixing bugs in a game, a different team can be working on social media posts and marketing ideas? You're not going to believe this...But these two teams can do this at the same time!
When there's technical issues with a game you don't focus on new content. I need engineers fixing things, not hooking up new things. That's how you get new problems. Content is on the way, but we need to get past this hurdle. I do have a decent idea of how this market works.
@TXChainSawGame
We need new content and better/faster patches. Because I think you don't know how the market works in this genre (your other game demonstrates it and look at IDV for example) Then cry when you lose players
@weskeltner
If this is your stance you're not welcome in our community. Do not buy our games. You are a small person living a milk toast life with hate in your heart.
Our community welcomes all and shares a common bond of loving horror and games.
A day in the life of a game dev on socials.
"Why aren't you talking to us?"
(gets online and says something)
"Get off socials and fix your shit game."
(sits confused...)
...then we receive this randomly:
Can you get a DMCA strike for in-game music?
Yes, it happened. Let's discuss. Please consider a RT to help get the word out. (Part 1/4)

Based on comments I've read about
@TXChainSawGame
I want to be clear. You WILL see game play before you see any type of preorder. This game is special and we want to prove that to you.
I want your interest right now, not your money.
Some of you know this, the majority do not. Let me try to help.
The first picture is "Leatherface". He is credited as so in the film, and verified by Kim Henkel. He is a member of the Slaughter family.
The second picture is "Bubba Sawyer" from the second film.
It's wild that I'm transparent with the game dev process, discuss the steps it takes and how much time is involved, and some people don't believe it. Then jump to name calling and insults. It makes you want to be quiet and just make things. You know?
How we make an outfit in
@TXChainSawGame
1. Buy magazines from 1965-1973 on Ebay.
2. Study ads, shirts, pants, shoes, color palettes, patterns, & fabrics.
3. Start 2D art for rough sketch.
4. Move from 2D to 3D.
5. Iterate 3x.
6. Done.
Total time for one outfit: ~60 days.
Thank you
@MattMcMuscles
for thinking of us and for reaching out for this interview. I appreciate how thorough your research is! I read the comments from your community…honestly, I got a bit choked up. Very kind words from them. Thank you. ❤️🔪
Mom,
Roughly 30 years ago I was standing in Toys R Us begging you to buy F13 for my NES. It wasn’t my b-day or Christmas and perhaps money was tight, so you said “not now, maybe someday.”
Don’t worry Mom, someday came.
Convo I had with
@ShiftySamurai
a few days ago:
Dan: “April Fools is this weekend.”
Me: “Yeah, we won’t be posting joke news about F13.”
D: “So I should cancel that image Izzy was working on.”
M: ?
D: “Jason Royale! 100 Jason’s parachute into Crystal Lake.”
M:
You need to follow
@Friday13thGame
for a chance to win some rad posters. My favorite is our "J8 Blood Moon" poster. It's huge! (me for scale...also...i'm only wearing sneakers.)
Releasing a multiplayer game at midnight, and asking my team to stay up, sleep deprived, to monitor servers is far more bogus. Fresh and awake devs = better problem solvers.
If you own the game, you'll still be able to play through Dec of 2024.
Thank you to the fans. I hear countless stories about friends made in this game. Hell, even soul mates found each other at Crystal Lake! I make these games so people can come together and have fun. <3
The late 70's was a pivotal moment for western horror cinema. We saw Italian Giallo begin to shift as Slashers were born. This game mode is an homage to that transitional period in cinema. It's shocking, unnerving, and a historical moment that changed horror forever.
‘Rush Week’, the all new 1v6 Giallo-inspired multiplayer mode is coming to the world of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
'Rush Week' launches with Content Pass Early Access on Sept. 26th, free for everyone on Sept. 30th.
Currently
@TXChainSawGame
is hovering around 300K wishlists on Steam. At the same point (pre-release) of F13 we were at 185K. Interesting stats! So cool to see horror fans uniting! <3
When you love something, so much..you pour everything into it, because you know there are people out there that care just as much as you do. You paint strokes of gore, horror, laughter...And then your brushes are taken away from you. I love this community. You're my heart now.
We got some really kind messages from all of you today. Y'all made me a bit emotional with your stories, the friendships you've made, and fun you all shared together. Honestly, that's why we make games.
Love all of you horror nerds. Y'all my people. <3
Convo with my nephew (he’s 7)
Me: “You know I make video games?”
Nephew: “Yeah my dad said you made the Jason game.”
Me: “Did you play it?”
Nephew: “No but I saw it. I played the Roblox Jason game…it was better.”

This patch is starting to roll out on console and PC will soon follow. Be sure to fully quit out of your game and restart it to download the update.
For details on this patch, head over to our subreddit here:
We fought to keep dedicated servers for as long as possible, but I think we all felt this day was coming. Doesn’t make it any easier, though. To the strangers that became friends, to the bonds forged at camp, and the Chad’s thrown through a window, we appreciate all of you. <3
Our team would like to present The Muerto Times, a way for us to communicate the status of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
For more information on it, head over to our Subreddit here:
Just wanted to take a moment to say thanks to all the fans and players that are reaching out to the team with kind words. It's a tough day, but hearing the little stories about your experiences with F13...Brings a different tear to my eye. Thank you! <3
Don’t worry. We aren’t stopping. We will continue to bug fix, optimize, balance, and provide routine maintenance to the game. Servers will remain on! Dedicated servers for console are on the way. Like Jason, we can take the hits and we will keep coming back.
My advice to you:
Get hyped for what's there. Tell everyone you know. Post on social, retweet, and discuss the game.
In my experience Hollywood reacts to buzz, not demands.
A dev that works on APEX lost a family member. His pain is immeasurable and I ache for him.
The pettiness and callousness of these comments are borderline sociopathic. Never do this. Ever.
Devs are humans. We feel pain, loss, and grief. Be better.
