Three young professionals affiliated with @BizUNR have been recognized in this year’s cohort of the “Twenty Under 40” initiative of the @renotahoeypn. Osvaldo Jimenez-Estupinan, Jasmine Stanley and JT Stark were recognized by the program, which YPN describes as a celebration of the outstanding achievements and contributions of young professionals who make a positive impact on the Reno-Tahoe community. 

In a high-stakes, 48-hour challenge in the Amazon, Ari Grele, a Ph.D. student in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation Biology, deployed his "Bugnet" technology to map biodiversity.

The fall 2024 semester was one of great accomplishment from the talented students at @RSJNevada. From their trip to the Paris Olympics to covering a presidential election for national outlets, journalism students have continued to produce excellent work.

The Nevada Wind Ensemble (@UNRLiberalArts) is proud to release “Mythology Suite,” an album highlighting the ensemble’s artistry and evolution through an eclectic repertoire recorded from 2018 to 2022. A recent study led by alumna Jodee A. Prudente, principal at Marvin Picollo School, and MaryAnn Demchak, professor of special education at @UNRCoEHD, examines the perceptions of rural school district principals regarding program quality indicators for students with an intellectual disability. This initiative is a collaborative effort between staff and the campus community to support Pack Provisions, the @unevadareno on-campus food pantry. Pack Provisions plays a crucial role in addressing food insecurity by providing free access to essential food and hygiene items for students, staff and faculty in need.

Last September’s Davis Fire in Reno and this winter’s devastation in southern California are painful reminders of just how real the wildfire threat is to Nevada communities. To help communities come up with actionable plans to better protect their communities, @UNRExtension is hosting the Fire Adapted Nevada Summit on campus March 17-18.

Just before Winter Break, @UNRHonors reigned supreme in an inaugural @unevadareno vs. @unlv Honors College Trivia Bowl competition. The function was held in an at-capacity room of spectators at UNLV's William S. Boyd School of Law building. The University’s Honors College trivia team comprised six students, representing a wide array of majors.
