I know there’s been much speculation about me and my job situation the last couple of days. It’s true I was contacted about a potential opportunity this weekend, but after celebrating a big win against our rivals with players I love like family, I knew in my heart I couldn’t.

Basketball school? I thought we competed in the SEC? #4straightpostseasonwins.

Praying for a dear friend, @Coach_Leach, today. Mike will always be a part of the Big Blue Nation from his time here in Lexington. Our thoughts and prayers are with him, his wife Sharon, their four kids and the entire Mississippi State family.

Thanks to everyone for the congratulations regarding Coach of the Year! I am humbled and reminded of what we talked about since we arrived at UK -- it takes all of us, and I'm so grateful to the players, coaches, administrators and great fans who made this possible. Go Cats!.

We are heartbroken for Jared’s family and friends. Since I’ve been here, it has been obvious that he was one of the most popular players in school history. He was a proud member of the Kentucky football family and he will be greatly missed by the Big Blue Nation.

I would like to wish @ukcoachcalipari and his family well in their new endeavor. We spent 11 years working together and I really appreciate all they did for UK and the Commonwealth.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my coach and mentor, Hayden Fry. He had a profound effect on the Stoops family, helping Bob, Mike and me grow as young men and then influence us in our coaching careers. Heartfelt sympathies go out to Coach Fry’s family and friends.

As so many of us have seen and felt, I deeply hurt for the injustice we have in our country. We must find a way to treat each other the way we want to be treated, with unity and respect. As a nation, we must overcome it. And we must begin now. 🙏.

Chantel and I, along with the Kentucky football family, are in grief for the Shemwells, their family and friends. It is hard to put into words the hurt we feel in our hearts, and our prayers and deepest condolences are with the Shemwell family and all affected by this tragedy.

I want to help our players align their beliefs with their opportunities. I’m proud that they care not just for themselves, but also for the people around them and the communities where they live.

We’re excited that @joey1gatewood has received waivers from the @NCAA and @SEC and will be eligible to play this season. We’re thankful that the SEC Presidents and Commissioner @GregSankey took into account the unique circumstances around this season.

I’m heartbroken to learn about the passing of my friend, John Schlarman. My prayers go out to LeeAnne and the kids, Joseph, Benjamin, Matthew and Evelyn, through this very difficult time.

I’m very proud of how these players battled against and overcame adversity many times during the season. They kept together and kept playing. I love each and everyone of them. This win is for Coach Schlarman and Chris Oats! Thank you, #BBN for being with us all the way.
