Crews have started removing the first of two retired 1,000' stacks at the Cumberland Fossil Plant in Stewart Co., TN. The plant will continue to operate using the emission control stacks. Hammering sounds may be heard during the day. The second stack will be removed next year.

We are saddened to learn of former TVA director Bill Baxter's passing on August 18. Baxter was appointed to serve on the board in 2001 and later served as chairman in 2005 when legislation modernized the board's structure. We honor his service to the Tennessee Valley region.

Paradise Fossil Plant, near Drakeboro, KY, provided jobs and low-cost energy to the region for 57 years! It once had the largest operating coal units in the world. Operations at the plant ceased in 2020, and the property is now paving the way for our clean energy future!

Demolition experts safely imploded stacks that long supported Paradise Fossil Plant in Drakesboro, KY. The coal plant served our region for 59 years and was retired in 2020.
