Climate adaptation is vital to save lives & economies, as wildfires, floods & other worsening disasters show. The USA submitted its first National Adaptation Plan, joining 63 other countries in recognizing the necessity of adaptation to protect and transform lives & communities.

I welcome today’s submission of the new U.S. national climate plan and the statements from subnational governments on advancing the U.S. 2035 climate goals. We need to keep up global momentum on efforts to keep temperature rise below 1.5°C.
