#sapsHQ [MEDIA INVITATION] #EmployeeHealthAndWellness he Minister of Police, Mr Senzo Mchunu, the Deputy Ministers of Police, Mr Cassel Mathale and Ms Polly Boshielo will officiate over proceedings at the official opening of a three-day Employee Health And Wellness (EHW) work shop aimed at strengthening programs to enhance overall mental, physical and psychological well being of members in the South African Police Service (SAPS). Held under the theme, “Redefining and Repositioning Service Offering to SAPS Human Capital, Nurturing Talent from Recruitment to Retirement”, this session aims to redefine and enhance employee health and wellness services offered within SAPS, ensuring a healthier, more resilient workforce while improving employee morale and overall well-being. Daily, police officers put their lives at risk while executing the mandate of the SAPS and are often exposed to high-stress and traumatic situations. Without proper debriefing and support, these experiences can lead to emotional distress, burnout, increased risk of PTSD, depression, reduced work performance and morale. The work session will bring together members from various divisions and police stations nationwide for structured discussions, presentations, and interactive panel engagements. Members of the media are invited to attend and cover the event. The details are as follows: 🗓️Date: 12 February 2025 ⏰Time: 07:45 for 08:00 📍Venue: Birchwood Hotel and Conference Centre, Boksburg RSVP: Lt Col Amanda van Wyk 067 595 0163

#sapsNC The Northern Cape SAPS has issued a #SAPSHint - Report missing persons IMMEDIATELY. The investigation of missing persons is a priority for SAPS, and the public is reminded that there is no waiting period to report a missing person and the immediate response by the SAPS can save a life. The following vital steps must be followed when reporting a missing person: -Report the missing person at your nearest police station immediately, -If possible, provide a recent photograph of the missing person, -Give an account of the missing person’s last whereabouts as well as a detailed description of the clothes the person was last seen wearing, -Complete and sign a SAPS 55(A) form. This safeguards the SAPS from false reports and indemnifies the SAPS to distribute the photograph of the missing person, -Obtain the investigating officer’s contact details and keep him/her informed of any additional information, -If a missing person is found or returns voluntarily, inform the investigating officer immediately. Practicing personal safety may save your life, -Be crime conscious and be aware of crime opportunities at all times, -Never walk around alone and don’t talk to strangers, -Be on the lookout for strange cars or people, -Walk in well lit, busy streets and in a group if possible, -Always let someone know where you are going and how long you will be gone, -Trust your instinct. Parents and caregivers must practice child safety at all times, -If it is at all possible, children should play and walk with other children, -Avoid situations where strangers may approach children, such as unsupervised play areas or bushy areas, -You must know where your children are at all times, -Never leave children unattended in a vehicle, -Listen to your children. Pay attention if they tell you they do not want to be with someone or go somewhere, -Notice when anyone shows your child a great deal of attention. NP
