“God indeed is my savior; I am confident and unafraid. My strength and my courage is the Lord, and he has been my savior” (Is 12). With joy let us draw water from the fountain of salvation.

Let us #PrayTogether for peace! Today I received the statistics of the dead in Ukraine. The situation is terrible! War does not forgive; war is a defeat from the beginning. Let us pray to the Lord to grant peace to us all, and let us not forget all nations at war.

Please, let us not forget the poor. May we dream of a world in which water, bread, work, medicine, land, and a home are goods available to every individual. #EndPoverty

“I am the wheat of Christ to be ground by the teeth of beasts,that I may be found to be pure bread” (Antiphon). St. Ignatius of Antioch, Bishop and Martyr, pray for us.

Let us pray the #Rosary daily, entrusting ourselves confidently into the hands of Mary! We entrust to her the sufferings and desire for peace of people suffering because of war, especially martyred Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Myanmar, and Sudan.

Today’s Gospel (Lk 11:1–4) gives us St. Luke’s version of the Lord’s Prayer: “Father, hallowed be your name, your Kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread and forgive us our sins for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us, and do not subject us to the final test.”

Let us #PrayTogether and ask God that #Peace may spring forth in the heart of every person, in every people and nation. May every corner of the earth be sheltered from the winds of war and nourished by those who daily strive to live in fraternity.

In today’s Gospel reading (Lk 10:38–42), Jesus admonishes Martha (and all of us) not to worry and be anxious. Only one thing is necessary—to remain close to Jesus always.

During this month dedicated to our Blessed Mother, Our Lady of the Rosary, we offer our heartfelt prayers to Holy Mary, full of grace. Blessed is she who gave birth to our Redeemer and who accompanied him on his journey to death and resurrection for our sake.

Prayer and fasting are the weapons of love that change history. They defeat our one true enemy: the spirit of evil who foments war, who was a "murderer from the beginning." Let us devote time to prayer and rediscovering the saving power of fasting!

Today we remember the Holy Guardian Angels, and we ask them to remain with us to accompany and safeguard us as we journey together to our heavenly homeland. Angels of God, pray for us.

On Sunday, October 6, I will go to the Basilica of St. Mary Major to recite the Holy Rosary and make an earnest plea to the Blessed Virgin for #Peace. I ask you to join me spiritually. #PrayTogether

Today is the Memorial of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus. As a young Carmelite sister, her constant prayer was: “My God!… I desire to love you and make you loved.” Through her intercession, may our love for God, and for our neighbor, deepen and grow immensely.

I am saddened by the news coming from #Lebanon about bombings, death, and destruction. May the international community make every effort to stop this terrible escalation. It is unacceptable. I express my solidarity with the Lebanese people, who have already suffered too much.

“Jesus summoned the Twelve and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them to proclaim the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick” (Lk 9:1–6). Called by Jesus, we are sent to proclaim the Good News and cure all who suffer from any sickness.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his mercy endures forever. Let the house of Israel say, “His mercy endures forever” (Ps 118). God’s goodness is everlasting.

“Blessed are you, O Virgin Mary, by the Lord God Most High, above all women on the earth; for he has so exalted your name that your praise shall be undying on our lips (cf. Jdt 13:18-19). Today we celebrate the Holy Name of Mary, Mother of the Church.
