Dunno how things are going for people over at Post and Hive, but I’ve been spending most of my social media time lately on Mastodon, and am enjoying it:

@AlanGratz I know, right? All the other changes I’ve noticed so far I’ve been like, “ok, fine, whatever” but that one just irks me for some reason.

I love how all the people who complained about Twitter’s bans and content moderation decisions are now all like “stop complaining, it’s his platform, he can do what he wants.”

@aetiology I wonder how much of that comes down to length of time on the platform. When I started on Twitter, almost everyone I followed was in the Mac software industry. 15 years later I’m following science educators, publishing pros, journalists and more. Takes time to find those people.

Man, I hope whenever this site goes down that my final tweet will have been a good one.

@abbyladybug That’s what happened a few years ago… lots of people said they were switching to Mastodon (I forget what the reason was), everyone made accounts, and after a few weeks everything settled down and no one moved. Things are a little more… dramatic this time, so maybe it’ll take.
