News: New York Islanders President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Lou Lamoriello announced today that Lane Lambert has been relieved of his coaching responsibilities. Patrick Roy has been named Head Coach of the New York Islanders.
The New York Islanders are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the greatest pure goal scorer, four-time Stanley Cup Champion and Hockey Hall of Fame member, Mike Bossy.
“I’ve had bad days this season, but I know how to handle it now. For people out there who don’t see a light at the end of the tunnel, you have to get the right help. That’s what’s good about this. It shows it can be done with the right help and the right people.”
