People sure used to have wild ideas of what the Southern Hemisphere looked like 🧐 These maps show the world as it was known by Europe in 1595 and 1612. Much of the Southern Hemisphere was a mystery, but there was a popular belief in the existence of a 'Great Southern Land'.

This 16mm Magazine Cine-Kodak Camera belonged to Sir Robert Menzies, the longest-serving Prime Minister of Australia. Menzies held office 1939–1941 and again in 1949–1966. In that time, he travelled the world and recorded many experiences on this Cine-Kodak.
