there's also some pretty famous jazz diss records where you can hear the diss in the improv. My fave is Stereo Drive: Cecil Taylor, John Coltrane, Kenny Dorham, Chuck Israels, Louis Hayes. KD did not like CT at all and you can hear it in his solos as clear as day lol.

My Dad and his friends were rabid Taylor fans. They would go to every concert they cld and bet on how many people would be in the room at the end of the night bc they felt his music was only for those that really could “take in it’s magic.”
Today is the fifth anniversary of Cecil Taylor's passing. I'm going to be listening to his 1978 sextet (the band from The Cecil Taylor Unit, 3 Phasis, Live In The Black Forest, and One Too Many Salty Swift And Not Goodbye) all day. Here's a photo I took in 2016.

Rob Mazurek, has never received the attention and praise he really deserves. Check that stellar discography for one. I wouldn't even be out here doing what I do if I hadn't of come in contact with him. There would be no Coin Coin.
Feel like this new one from Rob Mazurek hasn't quite received the attention/praise it deserves. Amazing playing (esp. from Jeff Parker & Nicole Mitchell) and it reaches near-Mwandishi levels of trance, particularly on the second side. Check it!
