@ThisIsMissEm @blockstack Neat! Generating a random keypair client side is also the very first step in our auth protocol. The pubkey is sent to blockstack browser & used for encrypting the hardened HD secret key. If you inspect our tokens / look at our implementations, it’s the concept of “transit key”.

@ThisIsMissEm @blockstack We use clear JWT, but when we transport something sensitive (like a keypair), the specific node in the payload is being encrypted

@ThisIsMissEm @blockstack When authenticating with the Blockstack browser, a keypair is deterministically derived for the app and identity. This keypair can be used by the app for reading / writing data to Gaia. As such if the keypair is compromised, it would NOT jeopardize the entire user's account.
