Protect and defend SNAP. We must not cut it. Food insecurity is real and we have a core responsibility to alleviate it. Taxpayers shouldnβt underwrite products devoid of nutritional value that undermine our nationβs health.

Ask anyone who is from Africa about USAID. It has a checkered history at best, and the most common answer you'll hear is that it fundamentally disrupts local incentives. Why farm when your competitor is free grain from the USA? Zimbabwe used to be the food basket of Africa. It went from being a major exporter of food to having at least 3 major famines under the support of USAID. The USA should be helpful, but it should not teach a man not to fish.

We can argue about what to cut, but cut we must. We now spend more money on interest payments than we do on the military. Going back to our spending levels in 2019 sounds like an easy win to me. Let's do it and let's do it as fast as possible. Once we're done, we can start to think clearly about the future.
The βexpertsβ claim itβs impossible to cut $2TN from the federal budget, but hereβs a hard fact: the U.S. government spent ~$7TN in 2024, yet only ~$4.5TN in 2019. Not exactly ancient. Thereβs no excuse not to return to that & if we do, our debt crisis is solved. Our 50 states would do well to follow a similar path too.
