It's an Umbrella Crab! A crab with a broad carapace that acts as an umbrella over the crab legs and abdomen that you can see are very dainty and flat so that it can fold itself up securely underneath the carapace, which is nearly indistinguishable from a stone in this case.
You are tasked with finding the crab in this photo. I'll reveal its location at 9pm pacific time.

Juvenile silverspotted sculpin. Beautiful brown stripe and silver spots. Ornate transparent windows on each fin make it feel like a little dragon. All in just a few centimetres.

Polyphyletic worm battle!! In this video you're seeing a ribbon worm (nemertea) deploy its proboscis on a marine polychaete worm (annelida). I've never seen the proboscis in action in the wild so you'll hear me gasp when I realize I'm getting this on camera.

How small was the thick horned nudibranch? So small that when I tried to use the bread clip for scale it got sucked into a drop of water and continued to glide on the surface tension inside the droplet. It's a miracle I ever find these slugs at all.

I was searching for the source of an eerie intertidal noise. It was the sound of a Giant Acorn Barnacle doing some renovations on their friend. This species often grows in clusters like this so I guess filing down your neighbour as you grow is necessary. Watch the lower one.

Personal news: I got to see the museum's invertebrate collection and the collections manager opened a pallet sized vat of alcohol containing assorted XXL squid parts. It was the best day of my life. The giant squid fin had whale tooth holes.
