And I am supposed to believe that every school is going to enter every score into maxpreps for this new tournament seeding system. When pigs fly. Seeding meeting is in a little more than 48 hours and there are teams in the tournament with incomplete schedules and empty scores.

Worth pointing out to coaches/AD. Go to these seeding meetings. Ask questions, get explanations. You see how poorly the site is updated throughout the year, what you end up with is a rush job in the final 48 hours before these meetings where oversights are more common than not.

If I were a Division 2 coach, I'd be livid about seeing a new bracket. You just spent the weekend preparing for one opponent, and then get this thrown at you. The handbook is pretty clear that entering tournament via court injunction results in being seeded last.

Congrats to the Central and Putnam boys and Central, Minnechaug and Chicopee girls for all reaching the sectional semifinals without having to play a game. You should have to play more than 72 minutes for a spot in the state semifinals.

Maybe an AD can explain to me why they don't enter their scores into the MIAA database. You know you have to with the tournament coming up, and its importance is only going to be magnified if there is a strength of schedule element to future tournaments (whether 0-20 or 20-0).

Want to make this easier, from the start of the season until the cutoff date, the game counts. Stop with exemptions, exclusions, the quarters count but the semis don't, championship games not counting against limits. One rule, plaster it for all to see, and move along.

Interesting to hear that Cathedral was given a waiver to exclude Everett considering the exclusion sheet in bright red letters says it is no longer an exclusion games. How many other teams wish they had tried to get an exclusion waiver. Why bother with rules in the first place?.

In my mind it is inexcusable for a tournament director to not know who is/is not Sullivan eligible. They should know that list before the season even starts.

A classic Friday afternoon holiday weekend "news dump" . I wrote some words about my 21-year run in the sports department of the Boston Herald, which comes to an end Saturday. No regrets. Thank you to everyone for the support over the years.
