As the people of Ukraine mark their Independence Day, the UK’s support remains iron-clad.
Ukraine is a thriving democracy, with
a unique, centuries old cultural identity, and we stand with the country and its people in their fight for freedom.
Today marks 33 years since Ukraine declared independence.
The United Kingdom’s support for Ukraine has not and will not waver.
We stand with you and will continue to stand with you until a just and lasting peace.

Unlocking barriers for exporters of iconic products, such as Scotch whisky, is exactly what the new UK Govt’s trade strategy will be.
We want to sell Brand Scotland to the world, maximise Scotland’s potential and kickstart economic growth

Great first call with 🇬🇧 Secretary of State for Business and Trade

! I congratulated him on his appointment. We confirmed our common efforts to strengthen our economic ties and to continue negotiations to the FTA 🤝
This government is determined to support businesses damaged by violent disorder to get back on their feet
I have written to the insurers urging them to swiftly get payments out so that actions of mindless thugs won’t see local businesses having to close
This Government is resetting industrial relations, so they are based on good faith negotiations, restoring trust in the public services we all rely on.
No more gimmicks, just the hard graft of governing in the best interests of the country.
The government has announced it will repeal the Strikes (Minimum Service Levels) Act to rebuild relations with industry through strong but fair negotiation 👉
I utterly condemn the far-right thuggery we have seen this weekend.
Be in no doubt: those who have participated in this violence will face the full force of the law.
The strikes act has not worked; it was a gimmick which inflamed tensions and only made serious negotiations harder, ultimately harming our public services and economy.
This is a grown up government focused on public service, not pantomime.
Criminal violence and thuggery on our streets will not be tolerated.
Police forces have my full support in ensuring that those who engage in criminal disorder face the strongest possible penalties.

The cut in interest rates will be welcome news, but millions are still facing higher mortgage rates after the disastrous mini-budget.
We will take the difficult decisions to fix the foundations, so we can rebuild Britain and make every part of our country better off.
