This afternoon in Nakisunga, Mukono South Constituency, we laid to rest our beloved elderly comrade, Mzee John Chrysostom Kiwanuka Mbuga, who was also the father of our brother, Ashraf Kasirye. Even at 86 years of age, Mzee Mbuga was still struggling to see that Uganda gets redeemed from bad governance. We connected with him through Ashraf and became his own children. He became a constant presence in our lives - regularly visited us, advised us and prayed for us. It is very sad that he lost his life in an accident and has not been able to see a New Uganda in his lifetime. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Today afternoon, we visited our comrades who are still detained at Kitalya Prison for four years withouttrial. These are Ssekitoleko Yasin Machete, Patrick Mwase, Sharif Kalanzi, Joseph Muwonge, Abdallah Kintu, Umar Emma Kato, Kavuma Musa, Jimmy Galukande and Gibusiwa Abdallah. They are very strong and happy that they were eventually vindicated in their firm belief that civilians have no business being tried by military courts! They are demanding for their release, or that their case is swiftly transferred to a civilian court where they can get justice. They send you greetings and request you to continue standing in solidarity with them. We also checked on counsel Eron Kiiza, the lawyer who was brutalised and sent to Kitalya by the military court.
