they’ve just charged the crowd with horses and continue to batter people. just seen someone shoved several feet backwards as they had their arms raised. it’s indiscriminate and horrendous. people are walking around dazed and shocked at the level of violence.

vigil to remember Sarah Everard, who’s body was this week identified in woodland in kent following a weeks long search.
This morning, four people charged with criminal damage for the removal of the Edward Colston statue from a plinth in the centre of Bristol during a Black Lives Matter demonstration last year appeared in court. Over 160 people attended an online vigil in solidarity with them.

a protestor with a bandage round his head and wrapped in a silver blanket has just been bludgeoned by a police man. others are carried out of the crowd. intermittent shouts of “medic” as the crowd is pushed back towards the shopping district
students and families are angry that the algorithm used to assign grades (in lieu of exams which were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic) has disproportionately affected students from working class and disadvantaged backgrounds.

there are thousands of people here, with loads of different groups and organisations represented. from feminist groups, left organisations, XR+ more people are united in their opposition to the bill. the crowd slowly marches past st james park to parliament.

Derek Chauvin has been convicted of the murder of George Floyd, but justice won’t be done until the oppressive structures that enabled his killing are dismantled. Huck stands in solidarity with George’s family and all victims of racist violence. Black Lives Matter.
