We want to emphasize this to everyone donating: Palestinians are raising money for evacuations that they may never be allowed to make. Those funds can also cover the horrific inflation, rebuilding costs and hopefully medical care when they can access it again.
Bringing this thread up again as Israel shuts the only exit from Gaza into Egypt (& the world) in Rafah.
EVEN if the fundraiser beneficiaries couldn’t use the funds to evacuate (for now), they should be able to use the funds to support themselves now.

In the last 24 hours we have had two major events happen with the fundraisers we have pushed. We took a stagnant fundraiser to full funding and unfortunately we saw one of our elders die before they could get the urgent treatment they needed.

When we push fundraisers for Palestinians now outside of Gaza, remember comments like these. Our people face every form of oppression in every place, especially in the ones deemed to be "safe".
Today I spoke with a family that has been in a camp in Istanbul, they escaped Gaza via Egypt and then fled to Türkiye. I cannot explain the violence they experienced in camps, to the point where they wished they never left the war zone. They begged for help.

Gaza fundraisers often slow down when they get close to their goal. Adopting a fundraiser that's nearly complete not only helps close out a fundraiser (that organizers have painstakingly pushed for months), it also frees up organizers to take on more fundraisers.
