Personally I love it. I'm a mechanical engineer and in my opinion the cars are a lot more realistic. I would take the criticism with a pinch of salt because I assume those people have tried F1 23 setups, which clearly don't work.
If you ask me it's really good.

I feel like , as some already have , most will take their words back. The cars are different yet familiar but people want to be eSports level on day one and they make setups and push everything to the limit without even thinking about getting used to it first.

Also, when it comes to tire wear: It's impressive , probably the best part yet.
I did 2 runs on the same set of soft around Brazil, with a charge lap between them , fully focused on smoothness and tire management. Wear? 5%
Then I did 10 seconds of burnouts on them , 45% wear.

You can check out our account for a more detailed 'review' , but I can confirm that F1 24's model is nowhere near the one of F1 22. Only similarity I saw is that lower wings can be used. Also, I used an F1 23 setup on the Beta, and indeed, the car was undrivable. Default was fine

- Do not steer the car too much on apexes, allow the car to do the work. Rear axle is very sensitive as of now, steering more than needed will result in losing the rear.
- Keep braking while steering to a minimum.
- Try a more V shaped approach in the narrow corners.

A few suggestions to beta testers when it comes to driving:
- Try minimizing the dead part when transitioning from braking to accelerating. The less you allow the car to roll mid-corner, the more stable it is. Try using throttle at around 10% after braking instead of 0 (1)

They had an amazing foundation in the first Beta. I spent 35 hours on it , there was suspension travel, very realistic, not the car feels like im driving a shopping cart. Someone changed their mind in the wrong direction. Pity.

- If you find the car to be incredibly understeery , make sure you have your wheel rotation set to 360° at most, instead of the default 500°. I don't know why EA did that.

Because I used ABS (brake pedal is playing games) , I cannot confirm flatspotting.
However I did do a bit of drifting , only to find that I had 60% wear after 1 lap on the rears. Tires get affected by wheelspin
It's that likely something similar happens under braking.High wear

Woke up to some very sad news today.
Ken Block has passed away after a snowmobile accident.
One of the biggest entertainers in the world. Always on the edge and he always had something new to show us everytime he stepped in a car.
RIP Legend.

🎮 CONTROLLER HANDLING
Controller players may need an adjustment period. Transition in corners feels slower, but I had no issues with the S section on COTA. I wouldn't worry if I was a controller player , if EA fix the brake power balance.
