And 2 paramedics in Aurora CO were tried and found guilty for the death of a patient meaning more than law enforcement is at risk of law suits and prosecution) I encourage everyone read this consensus statement published last year on law enforcement response to mental health calls. In summary: crisis response teams trained to de-escalate situations are the best solution for todays world

The Why: Penetrating Neck Injuries via @YouTube In this addition of "The Why?", Drs. Mackey and Beaver discuss the case of a dog bite to a young child. Penetrating wounds of the neck carry up to a 10% mortality rate. Any suspicion or concern of a penetrating wound to the neck should be taken to a trauma center.
