@grouchdiver And still - I have zero power so why target me?

@grouchdiver No, but your ideas will adversely affect Jewish people. The only people who can affect change are those living in Israel and Palestine. Both held open elections. Western countries feel like the rest of the world is controlled by them -it is not.

@grouchdiver Interesting that you are so willing to collectively punish the Jewish people. A traumatized people who had few options after the holocaust. Traumatized again after October 7th. Canada already voted for a Ceasefire.

@grouchdiver Honestly, we have no power in other countries. The fact that people think they do is because they want to feel they have control over a terrible situation. Helps them feel less hopeless.

@grouchdiver Those two countries have demonstrated no change despite the world collectively boycotting them. So what makes you think you can make change that way?

@grouchdiver So collectively punish all Israeli citizens is your suggestion?

@grouchdiver So boycott a whole group of jewish people who didn't necessarily vote for the current Israeli government? Affect those people negatively?

@grouchdiver Then should they not be protesting at Queens Park or Parliament Hill? Canada already voted for a ceasefire at the UN. What else can Canada do to control Israel- another democratic country?

@grouchdiver Why bother asking my opinion? I disagree that our voices make change in Israel. Israel has its own government and citizens. It is like saying our voices make change in the USA.

@grouchdiver Actually, not one single public elementary or secondary school have police stationed at them. Highschools in priority neighbourhoods use to have resource officers but that program was ended. So it is pretty novel to have police guard your child's school here in Toronto.

I'm going to start asking people if they actually know any Jewish people or have Jewish friends. My bet is most don't. They think they know us... they don't.

@jorymicah Israel is mentioned over 2000 times in the torah. Loving Israel is not a political movement, it is part of our religion.

@kinsellawarren @timescolonist Jews in Canada have zero power in Israel/Gaza. Enough is enough. Stop targeting us for something we have not done.

@grouchdiver @JustinTrudeau It is a very Jewish neighbourhood. If you don't live here and are not Jewish you don't know. It is about intimidation. We Jews in Canada can't change anything in Gaza so why come where we live every weekend?

This weeks torah reading: The children of Israel multiply in Egypt. Threatened by their growing numbers, Pharaoh enslaves them and orders the Hebrew midwives, Shifrah and Puah, to kill all male babies at birth. (Israel is mentioned again!)

@grouchdiver @JustinTrudeau But that is not the case - people come together to live in communities. Like the village is many but not all gay folks, Bathurst & Wilson is many but not all from the Philippines.
