Caring for a sick or premature baby can feel overwhelming but knowing when to seek medical help is vital. Watch for these signs: 💙 Difficulty breathing – Fast, noisy, or laboured breathing 💙 Fever – A temperature of 38*C or over 💙 Unusual behaviour – Extreme sleepiness, irritability, or difficulty feeding 💙 Skin changes – Pale, bluish, or blotchy skin Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong don’t hesitate to call your GP or NHS 111 for advice. In emergencies, call 999 immediately. Check out the link for more info: #WinterWellness

There can be many reasons why your baby might be transferred to a different unit during their time in neonatal care. We understand that this may feel unsettling for you. Things you can do ahead of the transfer if you have the opportunity: 💙 Visit the new unit and see if you can and meet some of the staff 💙Find out if there is a Bliss champion volunteer to support you and your family (if not, ask what other emotional support does the new unit provide) 💙Ask the PALS department what help the new hospital can offer your family, such as help with parking costs, food vouchers, or accommodation Visit our information about transferring your baby to another hospital to find out more information:

💙This Full-Term February, we’re shining a light on the unique challenges faced by families of full-term babies in neonatal care. Filmed on a busy neonatal ward, this video features Dr. Ngozi Edi-Osagie, NHS England's National Clinical Director for Neonatal Care, discussing why this campaign matters. ❗Did you know that 60% of the 90,000 babies admitted to neonatal units each year are born after 37 weeks? These families often feel unprepared for this journey, and that's why Bliss provides dedicated resources to support them. 👶🏾Did your full-term baby have to spend time in the Neonatal Unit? What three words would you use to sum up your experience? Tell us in the comments 👇🏾 Visit our website or social channels to access tailored advice, share your stories, and help us raise awareness.
