Anyone else sick of this narrative? That a woman’s success can only be defined by what a man deems valuable? It’s bullshit.
Our accomplishments are worthy of recognition, in and of themselves.
Also, if you can’t “sell” excellence, can you actually sell anything?
The soccer community lost a real one today. And for women’s soccer, one of the originals who helped drive our game forward. Grant Wahl never shied away from asking the tough questions, the right questions, the ones that got to the heart of the matter. He will be greatly missed.
I’m very appreciative of this, and please know that even being considered for this award is an honor. Lu, Abby, Jae, and especially Casey all have better claims to this award than I. I must acknowledge that and the quality they brought to their teams and to this NWSL season.
I think the Spanish players said it best in their statement: why would a group of players, on one one of the most talented teams in the world, risk their careers and reputations on unfounded, capricious complaints eight months before the

We are aware of the allegations of racist fan language during last night’s match and are continuing our investigation of the incident. Racism in any form is unacceptable and will not be tolerated in our stadiums.
To deny gender-affirming resources to trans kids and to threaten their parents and guardians with claims of child abuse is MONSTROUS.

1/2 We are shocked and disappointed with today's decision, but we will not give up our hard work for equal pay. We are confident in our case and steadfast in our commitment to ensuring that girls and women will not be valued as lesser just because of their gender.
Giving thanks, and sending strength and love to all the women who courageously came forward to share their experiences and demanded much-needed change in our league. We must continue to fight for an environment that is 100% safe (not just for some, but) for all.
We’re with you,
@Jennihermoso
. Nothing but respect, solidarity and support for you and all of the incredible women taking a stand against these shameful people and their sexist and misogynistic indignities.
I think this is your very first goal on your first cap, and you’re clearly NOT hugging me back. Thank you for celebrating with me tonight as my fear of rejection has been rampant since this moment. Congrats to 💯,
@ChristenPress
. To many more hugs.
I don’t know the private details, but if 15 of the best players in the world wanted to share feedback I’d respect them enough as people and players to take their concerns seriously. (2/2)

I remember this moment so vividly. It’s awesome to see it from this vantage point! Such a special moment.
Also, why didn’t someone tell me the pink prewrap was redundant with the black tape? Help a sister out, damn.
(1/3)The league was informed of these allegations multiple times and refused multiple times to investigate the allegations. The league must accept responsibility for a process that failed to protect its own players from this abuse.
A quick note on yesterday…truth is this work has spanned decades and generations; and not just within women’s soccer, but all women’s sports. We couldn’t have done any of this without the 99ers. Not without Venus, Serena and Billie Jean. Not without the

BREAKING: US Soccer and USWNT have reached a settlement in their six-year fight over equal pay. The players will receive $24M, and USSF has promised to equalize pay between the men's and women's national teams for all competitions, including the World Cup.
So honored to reach 💯caps!!! It is an absolutely honor to represent this team. I am so thankful for everyone who has supported me along the way. This road hasn’t been easy, but it has been totally worth it!
Tokyo here we come! 🎟✈️
The leadership.
The laughs.
The consistency and so much more.
It's all part of what makes Becky...Becky. And it's why she's one of the best to ever wear The Crest.
Cheers to 200 caps (and counting) for

Not Kelley because she would probably kill me in my sleep and eat me, so I would choose Sam Mewis because she's resourceful and Alex Morgan because all of the WoSo world would look for her if she went missing.
Just to be clear, Olivia is a pro in all but matchdays. She should be able to play in the
@NWSL
and we should be nurturing young talent—allowing them to develop by playing against the best. Let her play.
Olivia Moultrie, 15, wants to play in the NWSL. The NWSL says she can't until she's 18.
Moultrie could sign pro in Europe if she was European. MLS signs U-18 teens regularly.
Moultrie's attorney Len Simon says the NWSL is violating antitrust laws.
Inspired by and proud of

A quick thread, because I just want to say, “thank you.”
“Thank you,” to the women who led and continue to lead the fight for equal pay across sports and in everyday day life. This work stretches long in to the past and will continue well in to the future. I’ve said it before…
I told the ladies before I left Utah how special a group this is, I’ve been proven right every day since then. Today’s game didn’t end the way we wanted it to but the future for
@ThornsFC
is bright. I can’t wait to be back and working with them🌹
It’s such an honor and it took way more than 23 people to get us here. We’ll be playing for everyone who put in the time, the sweat and the sacrifice—thank you!
The women of the Afghan WNT are not just soccer players. They are activists and trailblazers in their country. Our soccer community needs to unite and ask that these women are given the aid they need.

I love me a good defense photo after a championship. Well done to all these players who played a huge part in this tournament.

The USWNT has announced that it will play England — and the match sold out faster than any women's soccer match in history.
The World Champions will meet the European Champions in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley in October 🇺🇸🏴
Banning trans girls + women doesn’t “protect women’s sports.” There are real problems in women’s sports that we could be addressing—preventing abuse, enforcing Title IX compliance, among others.
In the end, I want every young person to live their best life, exactly as they are.
Thank you to Athlete Ally Ambassador
@beckysauerbrunn
for speaking out for trans athletes in MO: “I can’t stay quiet as transgender youth in my home state are targeted simply because they love sports as much as I do.”
Imagine idolizing the 99ers and then having
@BriScurry
as your first ever WNT roommate. I opened the hotel door, 👀, started to lose vision, and thought I was going to faint.
A call to all executives to see the humanity before the financials.
I’m incredibly inspired by you,
@tziarra
, and the impact you’ve had on so many so quickly. Royals/RSL are better for having people like you and
@kickback_nedum
in the organization. I hope everyone is listening.
Any player’s hope is to be in an environment where they are fully supported not only as a player, but most importantly as a person. For DLH to take this very real situation for the black community, and try to turn it around and make it about himself is completely unacceptable. 1/
