I spent time today with my son teaching him about the Dodgers' rivalry with the Yankees and the history between the 2 teams. We flipped through a Dodgers history book I have and ended the lesson watching the 9 min clip of Gibson's walk-off in game 1 of the 88 WS. Just perfect.

A few days after his most recent visit, he returned to the shop with a surprise... Rollie walked in playing it cool and then slyly revealed a 1/1 rookie autograph of Yoshinobu Yamamoto! Rollie pulled the card from a pack he bought at the store!! The store owner said that he had offered Rollie the first box on the stack, but Rollie insisted on going for the second box instead. I returned home yesterday after an incredible week with my team in Sofia Bulgaria. The mountains and countryside are beautiful and the welcome and hospitality I received from my team was the greatest gift. I haven't felt more honored in my career than how I felt last week.

Finished my 1978 Frankenstrat build last night. Last week I found a donor guitar at a pawn shop: a 1999 Fender Squier for $72. Neck is the proper CBS era large head stock. Frets needed crowning and the fretboard needed to be refinished. Great timing as today is EVH's 69th bday.

Here's a shot of the pickguard and the knob. Next up is relicing of the body. Still trying to source a proper CBS-era like neck. I can make one but I'm trying to do this build on a time budget as well as a financial budget.
