I’m now gossiping in all alumni group chats about Tim Walz. He was the first overseas English teacher at my high school, and when he first arrived he couldn’t speak Chinese. He’s remembered to be very friendly. One shared an anecdote that he once got scared by firecrackers.

Stan is one of few people I’ve met in ABC who will ask me about my visa situation every time when seeing me, and will feel frustrated for me when knowing there’s no progress. He really cares POC young journalists. Reading this piece really makes me sad.

Okay more update - in 1994, after finishing teaching at my school, Tim came back and visited his old colleagues and students with 50 American students. (Well the reason why Im now in Australia is also because i joined a high school trip to Townsville back in 2013!!)
