Pls don't take this tweet on bad faith, I love this hc, but after the shiver situation I wanna say: please don't call the translators transphobic if dedf1sh is just a girl on the translation because japanese pronouns are definitely more complex than that!
Fun Side Order fact: in Japanese, not only is the first thing Dedf1sh/Acht says is "HEY!" in English, but she then proceeds to use the pronoun "boku" (ボク), which is masculine and boyish but not unheard of for tomboys and people who are a little on the gender nonconforming side

Yeah I think eight was completely justified on the octo expansion since she was a whole new species. Also, I think the protagonist being eight here is actually very important and relevant to the story, a random new character wouldn't work as well 🤔
